Default Difference between bridge mode and pppoe mode

    Dear members,

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between bridge mode and pppoe mode.

I am asking this because in one of our threads someone have mentioned that if we are using 500c plans its better to use bridge mode.

    please share ur valuable knowledge.

Is there any disadvantages in using bridge mode??

If you are using dialer to connect each time, then it's Bridge mode. Or if the modem/router automatically connects to internet as you switch it on, then it's pppoe mode.
Yeah! It's better to use Bridge mode in Home 500 or other plans which supports night unlimited feature.

One reason is because 'It will only take 3-5 seconds to disconnect & reconnect to net in Bridge mode' which is good when you need to reset connection at 2:00 AM & 8:00 AM. And restarting Modem in pppoe mode will take 15-20 seconds.'

    @anniya0n
Apart from very good suggestion given by
    esteemed member @ saesms
Can you kindly check up, whether your OS
    ( if Windows XP)
has been updated to sp2 and sp3.
    In a recent thread elsewhere,
    this has solved the problem.

    2. I request you, to keep minimum applications.
at Startup, to avoid computer "freezing " and memory
    problems.

3.I humbly suggest, you can try a different
    Browser, like FireFox.

4.Will be very grateful, if some feedback is given

Thank you very much for replying me kindly.

The problems i mentioned above only in bridge mode and working good in pppoe mode.

If it is a virus then it should trouble me in pppoe mode also.so i think it cant be a virus.

Today i will go to bridge mode again and will tell whether i am getting the problems again.

The virus problem is also a possibility. Different settings/services are used in Bridge mode and pppoe mode. If a settings/service used one of those modes are corrupted by virus then that could cause problem for that mode. But you might be able to access net in the other mode. That's why I asked to provide more details on the exact error.

BTW. Good Luck with Bridge mode. If any problem shows up provide a screenshot or details so someone could help.
