    Default Problem with bsnl

My broadband connection has very low download speed, around 12 kbps. I have HOME 500C plan. my friend has same plan, but he enjoys speed around 200kbps. Also, 192.168.1.2 does not open in my browser, I have bsnl provided modem, UTSTAR UT300R2U.

    1 Try this guide

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

    2. Download any file from Microsoft and report the speed.

    3. Reset your modem and try. Be warned ! resetting will need reconfiguring the modem.

    Give details of your modem/make/model/number.
Do you connect in "Bridged" or
    "PPPoE" mode ? ( userid/PW stored/entered in modem )
Have you connected ALL phones after the ADSL splitter. ?
