Question Router settings - Please help

I have a UT300R2U modem with Bsnl dataone 500c plan. Recently, I configured my modem and restored the default settings. After that, I could not connect to BSNL. So I used the CD provided by bsnl to setup broadband all over again through ethernet. When it asked for details, I provided the following:

User ID: My user Id (i.e. Not the 14 digit broadband ID)
Password, Phone no.: I provided them
Subscriber ID: I gave the 15 digit customer ID in my bill
Subscriber circle: I gave the 5 letter subscriber circle from my bill

Then, I could successfully connect and surf the internet. But when it asked for registration, I pressed cancel because I assumed that it was already done by the officer when setting up broadband initially. What I would like to know is whether I followed the correct steps and whether there would be any complications arising because of what I did. Thanks in advance fo your replies

P.S. Also when I was filling the info, I accidentally changed a digit in the std code for my phone no. I realized this after surfing for about an hour. I have changed it now. But can someone plz plz tell me if I followed the correct procedure in reconfiguring my connection. Also, I posted this in another thread as JakeF. But I had some problems using that account so I had to create a new account. Sorry about that. Please ignore or delete it

seems a new procedure to me.
Anyway if you can connect to internet and surf / download
    normally, you can relax.

Actually, I was configuring my modem by going to 192.168.1.1 in my browser. But I messed up and had to reset my modem to the default settings. But when it restarted, I was shocked to see that it didn't connect to the internet. So I started installing the software from the UTSTARCOM ADSL 2+ Modem/Router CD provided by bsnl. It checked for applications like java, flash etc. Then it instructed me to plug in the lan wire and phone wire step by step. Finally, I was asked to enter details regarding my account. I'm sure I messed up with the consumer ID but I got the other details right. When I pressed next, It configured the modem a bit but told me registration failed and gave me a message telling me to register by going to the bsnl website and providing my details there. But I can still connect to the internet and surf/download. What really worries me is whether my own account is really being used by me or whether I accidentally entered wrong information which could lead to unwanted consequences in the future. I don't know if my usage after the change is being entered into my account or not. Should I approach the BSNL officers for a complete modem reset? I don't have any problem if the modem was just configured to work with my phone line and my original account.

I think this registration step was not at all necessary as no info was registered actually, registration failed. I think my modem working had something to do with the change in configuration of the modem during this entire setup. Anyway, I just checked usage and can see the usage for yesterday night in my account. So I think it's alright now. Thanks for helping.

Could you please also tell me what is the normal procedure to get my modem working if I reset it to default settings in the configuration page?

@essbebe: I sent you a pm with the screenshot. Thanks =)

You seem to be a smart guy ! congrats.

Thank you very much for the screen shot . see annexure.
Entirely new information about an application/program
for BSNL modem settings etc for me.

Please wait for other users comments.

This seems to be an automatic program/application
    to set your modem settings.
    Para two :

If this page appears AFTER you are connected
to Internet, if you make a wrong entry an
error message may appear. TRY AGAIN.

First three boxes and fifth box no problem.
The fourth box for userID could be the 14digit portal ID.
for web site where you check your usage.

    Please wait . I may get a response/reply
from BSNL Chennai webmaster. email sent.

I made a wrong entry once yesterday but it still worked. I've changed it now. I just checked usage now at data.bsnl.in and it includes the data downloaded/uploaded both before and after this change (I take this as an indication that connection to my account was successful). This happened eventhough registration (the step in the screenshot) failed both the times (My connection started working just before the first registration attempt despite the wrong entry). So I guess that the modem configuration changes the application did made all the difference and the registration does not actually matter since my phone no. is already registered at BSNL. Thanks for helping
