I am hoping for 1 mbps UL.![]()
New announcements (if any) will happen in April, 2009.
I am thinking that rates may go down a little. Some new plans may be announced. There is an outside chance that speeds may be increased and usage limits may be revised upwards.
Airtel,Tata and Reliance have already launched Home 1 mbps UL But why BSNL did nothing ?
with marginal increase in rates, the speed may be increasedand new plans introduced(wishful thinking of course)
Bsnl should provide some reasonable relief to the users. 500c plan includes night unlimited, and telephone rental free while plan 250 includes only 1 GB usage limit. I suggest some benifits for 250 home plan. Keeping 1GB limit as it is, the users of this plan may be allowed at teast a few hours unlimited usage, say 4am to 6 am or 6am to 8 am. Alternatively they may get concessional rate during night time, say 30 paise per MB above 1 GB free limit.
My point is,charges for one GB ( free usge) is Rs250/- while above one GB free limit, charges for the next 1 GB works out to Rs.921/- ( @ 90 paise per MB ) One MB of free usage costs 24 paise only while above the free limit addl. one MB costs 90 paise, It is unreasonable. Should we not expect a resonable relief ?
Now West Bangal Telecom and Calcuttatelephones announce 20% discount in broadband(rental and usage both) for State and Central Government/PSU present and retire employ necessary certificate need to produce for that.
This new scheme activated from 1st December 2008
now i have question that i want to migrate my telephone number to my father's name is it possible ?

Thanks, then i will contact with the BSNL authority very soon
I am hoping for
250 kbps UL @ rs. <=500 (BSNL recently announced to cut price from 750 to 500 for 6 months for those who applied for 250kbps UL from 14 nov 2008 to 12 feb 2009)
512 kbps UL @ rs. <=900
784 kbps UL @ rs. <=1275-1300
1 mbps UL @ rs. <=1500-1600
in April, 2009.
The chance of above is 50-50 maybe more than 75% possibility.
:5:
If they give 1 Mbps within 1200 INR I'll go for it. But seriously, BSNL would need to upgrade their servers and equipments on a massive scale to provide such service. Unless they are already on it , then its difficult to provide such service within 2009
I am a BSNL broadband subscriber under 250 home plan. I am a retired central Govt employee also. My question is what is the process for getting this benefits ? How and to whom I should apply. Is this scheme applicable for new subscriber only or equally applicable to the old subscribers also ?
BSNL Bangalore's DGM(NP) has actually reported that he has made a proposal to the BSNL management to either scrap the 2-8 night unlimited in Home plans or charge additional fee for that.. as users are misusing the plan by using automated software to download.
BSNL has doubled its capacity but has totally failed to upgrade its IG (internationla gateway) or its IQ![]()
No I am not going surrender my connection because of the existing telephone number my father don't want to change this number because this number is useful to him lot of official call has come in this number.If migration is possible then it will be very good otherwise we will pay according to the existing plan(500+180+extra call+usage+tax)
@Amitava
You can go to the near BSNL local exchange or Kolkata head office(some times local exchange can't explain in detail).Copy of pension scheme or may be some other valid document will need. BSNL authority will describe you elaborately.
