    Change the Vista TCP/IP properties to make it IPv4 compatible.

    You can also use tcp/ip manual settings, i.e.
    I.P.ADDRESS=192.168.1.2,
    Subnet=255.255.255.0
    dns=192.168.1.1

    Thumbs down thnks.....But what about auto assingment

    i have already done these things ...
    manually ip assignment is working , but it is not proper way , and what should i do with my mobile Nokia E-51 (has wi-fi) no manual settings in mobile . And it is not logical thing that for every device i need to configure manually is there any good solution so that Modems DHCP will work with vista and cell phone.

    In computer: as mentioned earlier disable IPv6 and select IPv4.

    DHCP Ethernet Configuration for Windows Vista

    1. Click on the Start menu, and select Control Panel.
    2. Click on Network and Internet.
    (Skip this step if you do not see this Control Panel item.)
    3. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
    4. Click on Manage network connections.
    5. Right click on Local Area Connection and choose Properties. If Windows say it needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
    6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
    7. Select Obtain an IP address automatically.

    login to http://192.168.1.1 and check under DHCP.. ensure that you have a decent DHCP range..

    If nothing works try to reset ur modem to factory settings & then setup your modem again.
    Usually this problem doesnt happen in vista with any modem
