| Platinum Member | There are two options that you can do either assign a static IP and enter openDNS servers there or in the modem itself if you choose the first part do the following got CP>>Network connections>>right click on the LAN connection and click on properties then double click TCP/IP and choose the option assign a manulal IP address then type the following IP address 192.168.1.5 (any number b/w 2 to 254) Subnet mask just perss tab it will fill automatically! Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 Primary DNS 208.67.220.220 Secon. DNS 208.67.222.222 thats all if you choose the later option then you need to foodle around in your modem settings usually its under LAN options or in DHCP |

Rep Power: 12 | Log into your modem and the option to change dns should normally be on the first page itself if not find the option where you can set your static ip and dns and on that page leave the ip thing untouched and just click on use dns ( untick the option which says use isp provided dns and click the other one) Now click on apply and you are done just reboot your modem and you are good to go. This is not going to increase the speed of your connection but it might give you a bit better browsing experience. Generally speaking your isp's dns settigs should work the best for you but if for some reason they dont then only resort to open dns |

Thank you player!! I have checked all that.... Many users using the same modem have complained the same.......... We donot have an option to change the dns in our router page...... They say that we cannot do anything in the router config there about that thing... That's why I asked you, whether you could give me any alternatives..... @Admin I just want better browsing speed........ Quote:
