Default Block sites using UT- 300R2u

    Hi Friends,

Is there a way to block users from accessing site using UT-3002u ?

The feature that I am requesting is readily available in Netgear Router WGT624v3 through "Block sites" option, wherein you specify the key words like say download, mp3 etc and as soon as the user types these words into the internet browser a message pops up saying that Netgear has blocked the site.

What I am interested in is a way to directly block the sites within the router supplied by BSNL/MTNL without using another router in between.

    Any help is welcome.

    Warm regards,

    Jayadev.

UT-300R2U is a very basic modem/router. That is why it is not very expensive. Hence it also follows that it does not have advanced features like blocking sites by keywords. There is simple blocking available by means of URL or IP address - but that's it.

You could open an account with OpenDNS.org and download their widget. This wigdet will do a lot of useful things like blocking sites, prevent phishing, etc.

Then there are paid softwares such as NetNanny that can do much more.
