Hello all, 3-5 seconds you will get very high speeds because of buffering. It is the average speed that matters.

I too get ridiculous speeds for the first few seconds.

Exactly and since the DU meter reports avg speed over 3-10s , the graph shows for 3-5s , otherwise you would have hardly noticed any difference

Maybe it is because there is pressure of data packets traffic waiting for their turn to reach destination just like चौराहा traffic.

Yes I too get unbelievable bursts of speeds some times. But the average speed is still 220KBps when downloading from a good server.

The burst probably (wild guess) happens because a part of the file has already been downloaded and buffered and when the first speed calculation begins (by browser or download manager) based on the total amount downloaded and does not care for the current speed. But This should not have occured with BW meter.

Well this will matter only when you get that speed for at for a time being as it will signify your config file had gone bonker.

& this is only possible with a DSL connection not ADSl connection as speed is not determined by a config file in modem in ADSL.

Yes, you are right but it is still determine by your config file which is not there at modem but your speed is cap at server side.
