Thread: problem due to portforwarding

hey, i am using UTStarcom 300r2u modem with old firmware. I found some instructions for port forwarding over the web and tried to do the same. Now i cant connect to the internet. In diagnostics it shows 2 tests failed i.e cannot authenticate ISP and IP adress.I tried changing settings back to default. It didnt help. Can somebody help me rectify this problem?????

You can reset the modem and reconfigure again. See here: Broadband How to section

Try changing your modem to bridge mode. You will need to know ur BSNL username and password to connect to internet.

i tried connecting in bridge mode..... didnt work.....

Properties.
Enter Ip 192.168.1.10
subnet 255.255.255.0
Default 192.168.1.1

DNs 208.67.220.220
.........208.67.222.222
Apply SAVE.
UT-300R2U ADSL MODEM MENU
Step 2 :
Open IE type 192.168.1.1 or
If it opens user Id admin password admin or password.
Open WAN page Select 0_35 enter VPI/VCI 0 and 35
select PPPoE
enter userId and password
"always On" idle time 0 ( if seen )
SAVE and reboot. Wait for two minutes.

No its not right yet.... am yet to try what Essbebe told..... i will try it.... i went to bsnl office today.... they checked my modem..... it worked fine. so router settings should be all right i think......

thanx essbebe.... i got it right....... can anyone tell me how to port forward coz i don wanna go through the same prob again.....
