    Default Confusion

    I got my connection on 19th December,2008.
When would I get my first bill?
How much would it be including all charges?
How much free usage would I get in these days?
Please confirm me quickly so that I can manipulate my usage.

    1. You will get your first bill as per the normal billing cycle in your circle. At most places the billing cycle is 1st till end of the month and you get the bill 4 or 5 days later.
    2. In the first bill you will be charged for as follows:
      • Installation = Rs. 250
      • Security deposit for modem = Rs 500 (if taken on rent) OR Modem Cost = Rs. 1000/- or Rs. 1600/- (depends upon Type)
      • Modem Rent = Rs 50/- or Rs. 80/- (if modem taken on rent depending upon modem type)
      • BB Security Deposit = One month's rent
      • Prorated charges for Dec = From 19th to 31st.
      • Advance Rental for Next month = One month's fee as per plan
      • If you took a new phone connection, you will also be charged phone installation charged and STD/ISD deposit (if you opted for that)
      • BB Usage charges for Dec = If you exceeded the prorated limit for Dec
    3. For Dec, your usage limit will be prorated for 13 days (19th to 31st). For example, if your usage limit is 2.5 GB, then your prorated limit = (2.5/31 * 13) GB
    4. There is no free usage. If you have opted for plans that permit free usage during night (2 AM to 8 AM), you will not be charged for this usage provided that you restart/reboot your modem at 2 AM and 8 AM daily.

I hope this answers your questions. But really. You should ask this questions to your local BSNL billing officer.

    In my experience,

the charges remain the same irrespective of when you got the connection , you have to pay the entire plan charges according to the plan you choose.

Same goes for your usage limit, its same as specified by ur plan.

    I've had this situation twice , From 26th - 30 in 2005 ( 4 days oly , still i exceeded the limit :lol, then 16-30th,08.

But really as J4K suggested you are better off getting this clarified from BSNL, they tend to make up new 'rules' whenever they are bored.
