    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.
I tried changing the settings according to your instructions, but it still doesn't work. The "NOTE" icon 0_35 connection doesn't turn green after clicking it, it stays red and I cannot connect to the internet.

Also, I couldn't connect to the internet in the conventional manner (using network connections) until i reset the modem and changed my tcp/ip settings back to 192.168.1.2 (from 192.168.1.10).

    Please help!
    Thanks!

    @srijand
I have to reset the modem to factory defaults in order to connect.
How you connect Dialer" mode or "Always On '
in this condition post ipconfig /all data.

or in DNS enter 192.168.1.1 and 208.67.220.220 and try.

the "NOTE" icon 0_35 connection doesn't turn green
in line 0_35 after all entries Green button will appear. next to that "NOTE' icon
    when you click it
    the connection will be made.

    Para two :
    out of thread:

A cryptic post like I tried "it" . But "that"
did not work. And my modem is supplied by the ISP.
Or i got it from America.
should I try " "something" else,
I formatted the hard disk , etc will not elicit any response !!!

I configured my modem according to the settings on calcuttatelephones .com and this seems to have worked. Now the the "NOTE" icon 0_35 connection has turned green. I am in 'always on' mode. Should I now proceed to configure the rest of the settings as mentioned in the very first post of this thread?

    ipconfig data:
    Code:

                                        61.1.96.71

    History:
I have a Huawei SmartAX MT882 adsl modem and I recently bought a netgear WGR614 wireless router. I've been trying hard, unsuccessfully, to configure it.

I followed the instructions here and changed the WAN settings accordingly. After the modem restarted, the Status on the Summary page was Red, as expected.

But after clicking on the plug icon in the notes column, it still doesn't connect and it stays red. Now I don't know what to do.

Also, after changing the WAN settings, I can no longer connect to the internet. I have to reset the modem to factory defaults in order to connect.

    Default Default Gateway

I have BSNL broadband with wifi modem manufactured by ITI. The router is configured by the BSNL staff. The defualt gate way shown when checked at DSL Router device information is 117.198.144.1 where as it should be 192.168.1.1. I am able to connect to the net but it gets disconnected very often. How to correct the Defualt Gateway address?
    Thanks in iadvance.

You must be connecting via bridge mode dialer. In bridge mode, the PC is directly connection to internet with the modem acting as bridge. The default gateway (117.*.*.*) is correct.

    Hi Admin,
I tried your settings exactly as explained in the guide. But now on my desktop i can access the internet. But on my laptop I cant. I see a net LAN connection on my laptop stating Internet Gateway connection when I connect to my Wireless router now. But it shows disabled.

Bottom line :I cant connect to internet thru my laptop as yet.
