Rep Power: 1 | Hi thanks so much for your help 1. My WAN setting is now PPP/PPPoE. 2. Have entered username and password in modem settings and made the connection Always On 3. Have enabled DHCP with range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.33 4. Changed IP properties from Network->Lan->Properties to "Obtain automatically" 5. Clicked on the Note Icon and now I am connected to Internet and can surf normally 6. Do I have to change any other settings in my modem or I can now proceed to configuring the Linksys router??? |

Rep Power: 12 | @sanmalkani Please quote the POST No in this thread. of message posted by @samking. Difficult to scroll through all the pages. ( 160 messages) He has to change the VPI/VCI to 1 and 32 in the bsnl modem he has, for Airtel usage. Use Airtel provided DNS or opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 Rest as usual. Quote:
Whether he wants or not AIRTEL will supply a modem FREE of RENT. A Non refundable security deposit will be taken. Neither He can buy the modem nor Airtel will sell one ! Poor GM BSNL already getting grey hairs.! ( Rather he becomes GM after getting grey hairs!) Leave him alone for these minor matters !!! | |

Rep Power: 1 | Hi, I have a bsnl dataone broadband connection with the Huawei SmartAX MT882 dsl modem. I am about to purchase a Netgear WGR614 wireless router to create a wireless network in my home. I need some help with the following queries: 1. Are there any speed / compatibility issues between the SmartAX MT882 and Netgear WGR614? Do they work properly together or should I go for another router? 2. Which is better - a USB network adapter or a PCI network adapter? 3. Is it possible for me to access my broadband internet connection wirelessly with the host computer turned off? What I mean is, if the main computer to which my MT882 modem is connected is turned off, and only the modem and wireless router are switched on, can I still access my internet connection wirelessly using my other computer (which has a wireless adapter)? Thank you! -Srijan |

Rep Power: 1 | I have a Huawei SmartAX MT882 adsl modem and I recently bought a netgear WGR614 wireless router. I've been trying hard, unsuccessfully, to configure it. I followed the instructions here and changed the WAN settings accordingly. After the modem restarted, the Status on the Summary page was Red, as expected. But after clicking on the plug icon in the notes column, it still doesn't connect and it stays red. Now I don't know what to do. Also, after changing the WAN settings, I can no longer connect to the internet. I have to reset the modem to factory defaults in order to connect. Please help! Thanks. |

Rep Power: 1 | Hi, Thanks for your reply. I tried changing the settings according to your instructions, but it still doesn't work. The "NOTE" icon 0_35 connection doesn't turn green after clicking it, it stays red and I cannot connect to the internet. Also, I couldn't connect to the internet in the conventional manner (using network connections) until i reset the modem and changed my tcp/ip settings back to 192.168.1.2 (from 192.168.1.10). Please help! Thanks! |
