Currently BSNL has provided me wired router.
Please suggest me brand and model no. for a suitable wireless router.
If you buy from BSNL, you hardly have a choice. They will supply the model which is in stock. It will come for Rs. 1600 + tax or Rs. 80 per month rental. You can also buy a netgear or D link router from market around Rs. 2500

confirm you can connect to Internet in "AlwaysON" mode ( userIdPW entered in the wan page of Ut300r2U
    Enable Dhcp.
    2. Confirm you have Netgear installation Cd
    follow the wizard setup.

    3.
To log into a NETGEAR router:

    1. In a web browser, navigate to the router login page. By default, one or all of the following URLs should work:
    http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com
    http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
Note: You can sometimes find the login URL on a sticker on the bottom or back of the router.

    2. Enter the username (admin) and the password.
    • The default password is password, or for older routers, 1234.
    • If you have already changed the default password, use the password you assigned the router. Passwords are case sensitive.
    • If you have already changed the password and do not remember it, you will have to reset the router to factory defaults in order to use the default password. Resetting a router to factory defaults will erase all changes you have made to the router's configuration files.

    Question Problem accessing wireless Router

    Hi Everyone,

I recently got a BNSL Broadband with Type II connection which came with UT Starcom ADSL Modem + Wireless router WA3002G4 . I was able to connect to wireless and use internet for 2 weeks. but then suddenly one morning i could not connect to the same. the Wireless router could be seen in View available networks window but could not connect. I have tried to keep it open and disabled WEP with no security, still unable to login. I did tried reinstalling the OS on the DELL E6400 which i use, but still not able to connect. I am able to connect fine to wireless in my office . The wireless is visible but not able to connect and I get APIPA IP address on wireless at home, but i am able to connect fine with the Cable from the router and Internet works just fine. Can some one pls advise?

    thank you,
    MK

    @blackbird
    Recheck wifi settings in router.
Post ipconfig /all data for both LAN and WLAN.

Make sure you have set VPI/VCI as 0-35 and ID and password is stored in the modem.

Enable DHCP in the modem and in your laptop's TCP/IP properties, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

    Try this link

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post283205 (Teracom: essbebe's compilation)

All you have to do is enable wireless in the " Wireless network " page. You may also choose any encryption of your choice. Just below that, you will be able to enter the pass key.

Thumbs down ASUS RT-G32 Wireless Router

I have BSNL SmartMax MT880 router, and used to surf internet from LAN connection to it.
I have configuration on router as:

    PVC Number – PVC 0
    Wan Type – PPP
    Connection Type – PPPoE
    VPI/VCI – 0 / 35
    Default Route - Enabled
    User Name – *********
    Password – ********
    Use DNS – Enabled
Max Idle Time – Always On

    DND--Yes
    Primary DNS- 208.67.222.222
    Secondary - 208.67.220.220

and other setting like LAN,Firewall,DHCP,Static Route,NAT,Virtual Server, etc.... as FACTORY default.

Configuration on my LAN CARD(Ethernet COntroller) on laptop:

    IP Address – 192.168.1.2
    Subnet Mask – 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway – 192.168.1.1
    Primary DNS- 208.67.222.222
    Secondary - 208.67.220.220

Now, I purchased ASUS RT-G32 Wireless Router. I connected the output of MT880 to ASUS Wireless router's WAN Port,
I turned on Wifi, connected to it successfuly, but I cant access Internet. It shows a Yellow Exclamation on connect signal.

What are the further settings I need to change? Please explain fully?

    BUT Could not work,
    In the ASUS Control panel (192.168.1.1), I click on WAN, then it shows;

RT-G32 supports several connection types to WAN., it shows Automatic IP, PPOE, PPTP, L2TP, Static IP.
I tried all one by one, IP, PPOE, PPTP, L2TP, Static IP.

    As written on:
    Changes in WAN:
Does your Internet connection require a login? – No
    Account Name – blank
    Domain Name – blank
    Internet IP Address
    Use Static IP Address
    IP Address – 192.168.1.91
    IP Subnet Mask – 255.255.255.0
    Gateway IP Address – 192.168.1.90
    Domain Name Server (DNS) Address
    Use These DNS Servers
    Primary DNS – 61.1.96.69
    Secondary DNS – 61.1.96.71
    Router MAC Address
    Use Default Address
    Click Apply

BUT, on clicking on Apply, THERE Comes an error:
192.168.1.91 is not a Valid IP Address, and field changes to 10.1.1.1, then subnet, 255.255.255.0 is not a valid address.

Can Anyone solve this problem? Pleaseee.

Default Huwaei 841 Modem from BSNL/Dlink N150 Home router

Followed the steps provided by you as follows:
    1) Configuring and testing your Broadband connection
    .
    .
    .
·Under this web page, configure the following:
    PVC Number – PVC 0
    Wan Type – PPP
    Connection Type – PPPoE
    VPI/VCI – 0 / 35
    Default Route - Enabled
    User Name – <Your ISP UserName>
    Password – <Your ISP Password>
    Use DNS – Enabled
Max Idle Time – Always On

·Click on Apply and allow the modem to restart.

    ·Close the browser window

·Open the browser and type h**p://192.168.1.1
At this point, I am unable to connect to the router again because the link on the BSNL modem has turned orange and I am unable to dial in (using ppoe) to connect to the router.

Unless, I dial in, I will not be able to modify the configuration of BSNL mOdem is what I thought.
How do I go ahead from here? Please help. Request you to answer today if possible.
    Thanks.

As I have a different modem I don't know how to reset to factory setting. Try to reset the modem to factory setting and then reconfigure for wireless.

    in your modem.
    enable DHCP mode
    Connect in "Always On"mode PPPoE
Userid PW stored/entered in WAN page ( Advanced Options )

    2. You could not get any solution out of 200 odd posts here ?

3.@sriniwas. has only a single post here and that too years back.

    4. Mention modem/wifirouter model /mAKE/number .
    Select from links below.
