Default Suggest me a Modem Please

    Hi...
I got my BSNL Broadband Home 750 UL+ before three months. I am a regular user since then. I didn't purchase modem from BSNL, I got it from my friend. The Modem is Beetel 220 BX. I configured it properly by reading the threads related to this modem( wanna thank all the guys for it).
I am not happy with the modem, it gets freeze every now and then. When I check the modem's WAN setting it shows authentication failure. The speeds not good too.........
I am planning to get a new modem from BSNL.... Could you guys suggest me a modem to buy...

    Happy New Year

When you approach to BSNL for a modem, you do not have a choice of Make/Model. All you can tell them is the type (I/II/III/IV).

    1. If your computer has a LAN card or Wi-fi, go for a type IV modem that has 4 Lan ports and Wi-fi. It will cost you Rs. 1600/-.
    2. If your computer does not have LAN or Wi-Fi but USB only, go for Type I.

dont you want to try troubleshooting your problem first .. give us some more details.. it may be some small configuration mistake..
1)is the modem in ppoe or bridged mode?
    2)connected via LAN or USB?

    1.Give many thanks to @superprash2003
2... You are likely to save Rs 1500/= to Rs 2000/=
3......Your SNR is bad and ATTN high.
    4....... Check line/contacts for corrosion/blackening/
    .............oxidisation etc.
5.............Ensure all phones connected AFTER the splitter.
    6............... see picture.

7...................Post Device Status for possible FW UPG.
8.....................Beetel 220BX board is common to many BSNL modems too

I am getting Speeds of range 26-28 kBps. It keeps working fine until it is switched off. Once the modem is Switched on (restarted manually) it takes a lot of time for it to get connected to the net. There are times I switch off and switch on the modem atleast 4 to 5 times to get connected. I get the status as authentication failure.

I knew my SNR is bad and registered a complaint last week. still waiting for a response from them. You think they can fix it?

I didn't get the 7th Point "Post Device Status for possible FW UPG", can u plz xplain me that
