i have a ut-starcom ut300r2u modem. i was using this model one year back. for a year i didn't have data-one connection as my phone was in safe custody. now i have the phone connection back. i have also got my data-one connection activated. but now my connection is not up. i am following the instuctions posted by 'just4kix'. the dsl and ethernet leds are up. the internet led blinks if i ping the dns server. i have changed the username and passwd in the modem setup as given by the local bsnl people. after settting up and rebooting the diagnostics show that its able to ping the primary dns, but not the gateway. in the summary page the primary dns is correct, but i don't know about the gateway which is shown are 10.239.0.1. strangely if i force this ip as gateway on the modem instead of asking it to setup automatically, the setup fail. the diagnostics page indicates 'pass' for PPP server connection, authentication with ISP and assigned IP address. i am also able to ping the dns server from the computer, but not the gateway. another strange problem is if i try to now check the username by going into the setup page, the username is shown as 'multiplay'. the ip address assigned to the modem as shown in the WAN summary page also starts from 10.239.-.-. instead the usual 117.-.-.-. does anybody know the solution to this problem. the bsnl staff as usual do not pick up the phone. thanks.
