Rep Power: 12 | If you are on Unlimited tariff plan no problem. If your wireless network is not secured, others can use your unsecured wireless network connection. If modem /router is WAG3002-g4 see this web site. Chennai Telephones- Changing password in DataOne Pre-configured modem |

This exchange happens in idle mode also. So there is some usage even when you are not actively surfing. Hence advise the following: a) Switch off the modem when not in use b) In PPPoE mode, there is an option to close connection during idle time. Turn this on. c) Switch to bridge mode.

Rep Power: 2 | I understand the possibility of hacking a wireless network. However, the connection is in a remote location and there is no computer in nearly 2-3 km radius. So, I do not think someone may peek into my wireless network. |

Rep Power: 1 | If you pay for data transfer charges & ur modem is in pppoe mode, then u r charged for sure even if the modem is switched on but not used. For wireless security always use WPA or WPA2 (Never Use WEP ,it can be hacked easily within no time) |
