Thread: How to create internet connection with vista-enabled laptop using bsnl home broadband

hi,
i have recently got dell inspiron 1525. m already using desktop pc at home with bsnl broadband connection ,but m unable to cnnect internet through laptop, which is vista enabled. no message is coming while trying to connect after creating a connection. Please help

i have dell model inspiron 1525 with 2 ghz and 2 gb ram and 160 gb hard disk and m trying to connect using both usb as well as ethernet

go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and post output here..screenshot would do..it maybe cause you arent getting an ip

1.Please mention modem make/model.
2Use LANPORT/Ethernet port for Laptop.
and check you are connected.
Use USB Port for Desktop.

3.Enable DHCP in the modem.

4. In both desktop and laptop in
TCP/IP properties select
Obtain IP address automatically.

5. Post ipconfig/all as advised above.

6, Hope you have loaded the USB driver/s for the modem
to say C:/modem/USB
For laptop USB port not preferred. ..
