Default BSNL Problem or U-Torrent Problem ?

    hi..
i have got a strange problem. if i am downloading using U-torrent and if line gets reconnected then torrent download wont start automatically.

Either i need to restart U-torrent application itself or the torrent from U-torrent. but it wont connect and download on its own. but my gtalk gets logged in , which means that PC (gtalk app) is aware that NET is now active.

even i tried to wait for few hours but still U-Torrent wont start downloading unless i restart application or do stop->start in U-Torrent.

but why do i need to restart torrent download manually? why does it not start downloading automatically after line is connected again?

Note : i am using ZTE modem and port forwarding is done properly and i get full speed.
i am using always on PPPoE Mode.( i don't dial a conn)

Try the following, and enable the following options:

    - Enable DHT Network
    - Enable DHT for new torrents
    - Enable Local Peer Discovery
    - Ask Tracker for scrape information
    - Enable Peer Exchange
    - Protocol Encryption for Outgoing = Enabled
    - Allow incoming legacy connections

If u could take the trouble of temporarily using another torrent client , u can find out if the problem is in utorrent or in ur connection.

I am too having the problem of losing ADSL connection now and then. Here's the best thing you can do. Change to Bridge Mode. Basically, in bridge mode, there's no port forwarding mess. So Utorrent will be fast in gathering peers. If connection drops and then reconnects, uTorrent will start again all by itself.
But Bridge Mode is unsafe unless you have a string firewall installed on your PC.

In the bridge mode, all ports are automatically forwarded. So telnet port (23), ftp port (21), etc. are also open. Hence a strong firewall is recommended.

Oh i get it now , thx for the explanation, I was wondering all along how utorrent was working fine, when everybody here ,were suggesting that port forwarding is necessary

Pls update your utorrent client. Even i use utorrent with pppoe adsl connection , and have never faced such a problem after temporary disconnections.
I never used port forwarding & have set utorrent @ port 80.

if you are in bridged mode , port forwarding is not necessary.. although make sure you have a good firewall...windows firewall not enough1!!
