Go to your local exchange. They will have a form to be filled up. You will required a BSNL landline connection also. If you do not have a landline connection, check the box in that form that you want a new connection as well.

The form will have all the questions regarding which plan, what type of modem/router, whether to rent the modem/router or buy it outright, etc.

Why don't you visit the BSNL website? All information is posted there.

There are no extra charges. The charges are exactly what are mentioned.

Vijay, if you are in Hyderabad you'll have to goto the Telephone Bhavan located at khairtabad and submit a letter to Commercial Officer Bsnl Requesting to have adsl activated on your line (if you have a bsnl line already) otherwise you'll have to apply for a new line etc etc . Anyways once you goto the Telephone bhavan they will assist you in the type of plans they are offering and the rates, types of modems they have and how much installation charges etc etc will be.
    Regards Mus
