Unhappy Painful Home 750 UL Plan

    Hi,
I use BSNL , and recently changed my Plan from Home 500 to Home 750 UL , but the download speed is worst , I get about only 20 to 25 kpbs on any download. I wonder if this is because of under sea cable damage or the plan itself is useless with the speed heading no ware

Please help me to select right plan , I'm thinking to get rid of this plan if it doesn't give good speed.

The maximum speed of Home 750 ul plan is 32 KiloBytes per second. And speed of Home 500 plans is up-to 256 KiloBytes per second. You can select Home 1350 ul if you want speed and unlimited data transfer. It offers maximum 64 KiloBytes per second, speed. But only in limited data transfer plans you get good speed.

First things first. You have not activated your account. Please click on the link in the mail you received from the forum admin in your mailbox. Failure to do so will cause all your posts go into moderation.

As far as your issue goes, as per your new plan you will get 256 kbps or 32 kB/s.

    So please clarify:

    a) Are you getting 20~25 kbps or kBps? If it is the later (kBps) then you are getting slightly less speed but you are not too bad.
    b) Is this torrent speed you are talking about? Have you forwarded the ports?

Your account is activated, I think. Last post did not go into moderation (unless someone authorised it).

Undersea cable damage will affect all plans. Anyway, the cable is repaired now.

I think a speedtest.net result would help to clarify your doubts. Go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and do a test from Mumbai Server. (Click on the triangle on the map near Mumbai.) And post your results. It might also be because of the websites you are using. UL750 almost always gives ~30KBps download speed on direct download from a standard server.
