    Default Home 500c

    well i m new user of broadband bsnl connection in some threads i came to know that without restarting modem at 2.00 bsnl do not count it as a free...unlimited ...is it true...and if it is true then this information was not not given at anywhere in plans documents....why...IF THIS WILL SAME WITH ME.....can i drag bsnl to consumer court...??????????????

    sure try suing BSNL, hey u must tell us how it went

    and yes it is necessary to restart after 2 am in order to get in the NU stack
    but this is not the case every where, it has been observed that in some places , the free usage gets subtracted automatically even if not disconnected . but it is recommended that to stay on the safe side and restart

    It's automatic for me. But I am not going to try my luck again.

    Check your usage at usage portals.
    1.Download/surf say between 0700-0745AM ( * free usage time )
    Restart system.

    2.Again surf a small D/L 0755 to 0840 AM.(* free time + day usage)
    Switch off system.
    Check your usage.

    3.Now a days , it is reported the usage meter
    changes for a block of 30 minutes. during the
    transition period. I cannot test. Home 250.

    I started using Broadband at 2:20 AM and stopped using at 12:34 PM. Data transfer from 2:20 to 8:20 was deducted from the total usage.

    I dont think it works for me. I check my usage from the old portal. And I connected before 8AM and surfed for few minutes past 8AM. It was counted as nonfree usage. I saw this at the end of NOV 2008. Didnt try later. I'll test it some time this month then.

    Yes I too maintain my usage that way. I just click bsnl connection icon which shows the usage in bytes. Its gives me an approx idea of my usage.

    So we dont have 20mins bonus. Thats unfair.

    hey frns i am also using 500c plan .... but no problem at all... no need to restart the modem but it gets deducted automatically....:yawn:

    You should check your SNR values. My friend also faces connection drops as he has parallel telephone lines that are not configured properly. Does your connection drops only during night ?

    Yea mostly during night only, very rare during non-NU hrs. SNR values seem to be ok.

    I get all sorts of crazy probs during night ul. I even have to use Utorrent 1.7.7 for two or three sites.

    Default unlimited usage was charged

    i hav been using home 500c plan for a month now after shifting from rs250 plan.for the month of december i got the phone bill by portal and it seems i have been charged for night unlimited usage also ans the bill amount was nearly Rs16000.but in usage portal it shows that i hav used only 1394MBs last month which is below 1500MB.now i hav taken the copies of my usage.
    what should i do, will my problem be solved if i approach accounts manager of BSNL or will i have to pay the amount.

    please help...waiting for a reply.

    has this been experienced by anyone else???

    @chrizzz
    Please go to the Acounts officer. Thats the only place to correct your bill. Also take some supportive documents like hard copy of the portal summarizing the total usage and usage details for a day or two.

    Obviously your problem will be solve but you will definitely show the valid document to the BSNL officers if they made a mistake then they must have to recheck the bill but most embarrassing part is you have to do some struggle for this (it will may take quite a long time also)

    thanks guys, i did go to the account officers office today and saw my regions ao, they asked me to give a written complaint and i gave.they made some calls but no use.then after returning home i realized i forgot to write my fone number.so i went again, but this time, they just gave the complaint in my hands and asked me to take it directly to the respective incharge.so after going there, they verified my usage and accepted the wrong billing.now for a new bill they have to give another letter but due to printer non functioning they asked me to come on 15th.anyways this much happening is itself a great thing in bsnl for one day.so i came back happily knowing that i will get that amount rebated.
    thanks guys..i will keep posted about the updates.i guess this will be helpful for others facing this problem!!!

    That sounds more like BSNL office. Any way good to see your problem is being looked after. Hope you can get it solved completely soon.
