    Actually 750 UL is now available(for few month) in 500 Rs but bandwidth is 256kbps.
    @funky_08
    BSNL is still not able to announce 1 mbps UL plan and 2 mbps unlimited plan it's a dream of BSNL authority also

    Wrong, there were plans of BSNL kolkatta to give 500 Rs. but the plans got cancelled. Look at the URL given below

    Calcutta Telephones

    The cancellation notice of the same

    ** Due to some technical reason the promotional offer of upgradation of Bandwidth of UL750 and UL750 Plus Broadband Business Plan from 256 Kbps to 512 Kbps for the period 26.12.2008 to 25.03.2009 is CANCELLED.
    The only thing people are getting are lower charges for the next 6 months.

    http://www.calcuttatelephones.com/modiul_pl.shtml

    Most probably they thought this is good enough. They can do the double speed 6 months down the line or something like that or they don't have that kind of bandwidth.

    @funky_08 I also here this, one day a call from BSNL in my Telephone I received this call and heared a recorded voice where it's saying same like your statement. I really dont understand what they are saying or it's my fault to understand, 2Mbps UL @ Rs500 filling up the application.
    Then I call the customear care, they dont know about this. So I thought maybe this was my fault to understand their recorded voice. But I still remember same like your statement.
    If you get this news from your Telephone then you are not alone.
    I leave in Kolkata.

    The earlier plan of U/L 750+ is now available at U/L 500+. I had to fill up a form and apply to them. I did that on 1st week of this month. Now, whether or not it has been effected will be know when I get my next bill.

    The offer which your are speaking about is for Calcutta circle only. I wish they had extended the offer to other states too

    As far as BB of BSNL is concerned Kolkatta is the best place. If u see all the interfaces showing in BSNL site is in fact copied from BSNL Kolkatta. As per my knowledge (close friend from Kolkatta) BSNL Kolkatta is giving best customer service. BSNL should take that initiative to all over India. Hope that will happen over a period of time as the ageing employees of BSNL have to retire and when young ones have to occupy that positions.

    BSNL Kolkata & Chennai are their special circles with large group of dedicated persons for serving only a single city and both these circles enjoy certain levels of autonomy.
    So their operations can not be taken as a bench-mark for BSNL service at other places.

    In Calcutta circle recently the rent for UL 750 was reduced from 750 to 500/-. Hence people tend to confuse this offer with the conventional home 500 plan available at 2mbps.

    Normally large font size means shouting but it also means laying emphasis. So let me end the confusion:

    There is no such BSNL HOME plan that provides Unlimited Usage @ 2 mbps - whatever the cost.

    Well then, plz explain the ad I just attached... I found it on today's The Telegraph. Does this plan really exist or are they calling the existing 500 Home plan "unlimited" just coz it offers Night Unlimited? I can't find any info regarding any "UL 500" in any BSNL sites... Not even anything about the cost of UL 750 getting reduced to 500 in Kolkata only, either... Can someone provide me a link confirming this?

    Thx for the link... But I don't care much about the 15 day trial offer, more so when my BSNL account is nearly an year old. :P Can you please provide me link to an official page confirming this 750-to-500 cut? That's really what I'm looking for.

    Just looked into the official website. No such links have been posted over there. But since it has been advertised in the newspapers, they must be updating the website without fail in the coming days.

    the 750 to 500 rs cut would be really useful.. even though its 256kbps , you do have unlimited usage so it helps if you use skype etc..

    Is it applicable for kolkatta circle only ???? wht about other circles any idea guyz (especially for metro cities)???

    Last time itself they cut only the tariff rates not the speed upgrades for unlimited plans. Why they do the same thing again, we all looking for some speed upgrades know?

    The speeds are more or less consistent with BSNL. A low attenuation factor, good SNR all add up to the performance of the connection. Like i have mentioned i am able to clock more than 5GB worth downloads during the free time..

    Which is your plan? H500?

    3.5-2.5 = 1GB

    1GB = 1024 MB = 1024 x 80p = 819/-.

    How come u were just charged 600/- ?

    Cool Bsnl 750 ul

    Hello guys I spoke to Bsnl customer care today regarding the upgradtions & they told me its possible to upgrade from 256 kbps to 512 kbps. They asked me to visit their exchange & give an application to their accounts officer regarding this. So I will go on Monday & get back here to post the latest.

    Yes, I also noticed that, when i told the bsnl guy who came for some repairing regarding the limits getting exceeded, he said they are soon making the 2 mbps plan or speed to unlimited one in the next six months.

    So, there will be no more need to worry of getting the limit exceeded. But it will take some time of around 6 months. So, i HOpe they will be introducing new unlimited plans in the next year. Lets hope for the best.

    Whats the new offer they introduced in the kolkata circle for UL750 users recently ?
