I was using bsnl bb,with Home500C plan and then mid december,i decided to change to 750UL+.On 4th jan,I verified if the plan change had taken place and with the confirmation,I started downloading.Today I checked my usage details and was shattered. I was simply astonished to see the details.I had applied for plan change in december end and it was told that it will be in effect from start jan. On 4th jan i saw my speed had gone down,so i checked the portal and it showed that i was currently in 750UL+ , then I called the bbservice helpline at 18004241600 and asked the customer care executive and she said that the plan has been changed to 750UL+. Only then did I begin downloading,and now the portal shows that my downloads are not chargeable only after 10th Jan. Now,from 4th to 10th,I downloaded about 13GB. I need help as in what should I do to avoid the mammoth bill that is expected,as i had confirmed the plan change before starting any download? |

Rep Power: 1 | its not only u brother others are also face the problem one among them is me also and another who is face this problem this month many plans are changed only on 8th or 10th few months back 2 guys faced same problem one got bill of 750ul only and other got the high bill so this guy went to the zonal officer and said about issue and later he the bill as 750ul only so don't worry till bill comes if u get high bill then got and meet the zonal officer and issue will be solved if then also u problem not solved u have consumer court also only thing is ur planed should be changed 750ul and it should be provisioned |

| Platinum Member | Third answer is correct. If a plan change happens on, say 10th, then: From 1st to 9th, billing will be as per old plan. Usage limit will be as per old plan and apportioned. For example, if the plan was Home 500 C (usage = 1.5 GB), then for 1st to 9th, the usage limit will be apportioned to 460.8 MB (assuming 30 days in the month; even less for 31 day months). If the usage limit from 1st to 9th exceeds 460.8 MB, usage charge will apply at 0.80p per MB. For the rest of the month, if the plan is changed to UL750+, then of course there is no usage limit. But overusage during first nine days will still apply.

Anyways,since I had to fightmy way to getting a connection,I had the numbers of all top notch officers of bsnl in my city and I made around 30 calls to their offices and now its expected to be corrected.They are now saying that though the portal shows that downloads will no be charged from the 10th of Jan,it actually will not be charged from 1st of Jan, and they too accept that the bsnl website is crappy! |

| Platinum Member | The mail from BSNL is just a warning and nothing more. What I have said can be confirmed when this actually happens. Quote:
The mail is auto generated. It assumes that you had the same plan through out the month. So if there was a plan change, it will take the plan details when the usage limit exceeded. As far as your two cases are concerned, please check what plan change occured. It may be that the plan change was from a lower plan to higher plan. I myself had UL900 (as it was then) and changed to Home 500 C during the end of month. For the last 4 days, my plan was Home 500 C and my usage exceeded a little. Rep Power: 1 | may be things changed now see my case few mounts ago even before in month of august i had changed my plane from 500c to 500c+ then my 500c+ plane was conformed on 6th but sill i was charged in 500c+ my usage for that month was 2961103kb its 2892 mb and limit for 500c+ was 2.5Gb its 2560 mb my additional usage was 332mb i was charged around Rs 266 extra my total bill was around Rs 975 if i was charged 1st to 5th as 500c and from 6th to 31th as 500c+ my free usage would be around 248mb from 1st to 5th and my free usage would be around 2148mb from 6th to 31st total is 2396mb then i would be charged Rs 396 extra my bill would be around around Rs 1100 now i was informed by the bsnl guys that that we will be charged as 750ul+ only and not 500c or 500C+ Last edited by rizwan; 01-13-09 at 06:35 PM.
