Default Devices connected to a Wireless Network

    Hi All,

I recently configured Linksys WRT54GC wireless router with SmartAX MT882 modem.

Now, I would like to find out, at any given point of time, who or what devices are connected through the WRT54GC router/MT882 modem for security sake?

Is it possible? If so how?

PS: Not sure where to post it. Hence, posting in the BSNL Broadband forum as it is the most visited one.

    TIA,

    Regards,

    Praveen

    Exactly Mail2sc.

I would like to find the list of devices using the internet connection.

For the sake of clarity, I am using the 4 devices:

    1. A desktop (wired connection - ethernet cable)
    2. 2 Laptops (wireless)
    3. A HTC smartphone (wireless)

I want to view the list of devices using the MT882 modem/ wireless WRT54GC router at any given point of time.

    Regards,

    Praveen

For Linksys wireless routers, click on:

Status --> Local Network --> DHCP Clients Table

@just4kix, thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, DHCP is enabled in SmartAX MT882 modem and not the Linksys router. Hence, nothing is visible in the router.

However, I found that I can check HOME --> DHCP for the DHCP client table in the SmartAX MT882 modem. The only problem is that this table populates data only if the MT882 modem assigns the IP address. If anyone is connecting through a static IP, the DHCP client table does not record it.

Hope you get where I am getting at.

    Regards,

    Praveen

in netgear there is a page called ATTACHED DEVICES which shows attached pcs even if its static ip or dhcp.. there should be something similar in your case as well.

Every wireless modem/router will have some option to check the machines connected. It would generally be in the menus such as 'Status' or 'Administration'.
