Thread: Some problem with my modem...

Im using ZTE ZXDSL 831AII Modem. The internet light is not flashing. But i can use the net. The problem is that sites are taking more time to open, even the google. But when im downloading im getting constant speed from 28-31 kbps. Can any one help me coz i am tired of waiting long 4 the sites to get opened....

(a)Try all updatesSP2 and SP3 for your OS if Wndows XP
(b)Try a different browser like Firefox.
(c) Use ccleaner from filehippo.com
(d) My Computer . Select C: Properties/ tools
diskchk and defragment.

(e)Check speed at speedtest.net say Mumbai server.

On top of essbebe's suggestions, try changing DNS - if using BSNL DNS, switch to OpenDNS or vice versa.

And check MTU too. MTU should be 1492. If that does not work, reduce it by a factor of 8 and recheck. Repeat till you get the results.
