    1..Mention modem make.

    2. Check settings for your unit here.
    http://www.calcuttatelephones.com/da...tall/menu.html

    3. Check speed at speedtest.net say Brisbane
and post the link or results here.

    4. Max speed possible 32KB/sec for 256Kbps speed(*conditions apply!)
    5.
    Start RUN type ping google.com
    post average result.

what speed you are getting, if you are facing slowness issues then please try to power cycle (restart) your modem router on regular basis
please make sure that you don't have more than 4 sockets connected on phone line
make sure all the sockes got filtes/splitters attached without any extention cable.
use proper DSL cable without any cuts or joints.
if nothing helps then please contact your service provider (ISP) for line test

if you are facing latency in games then i think its normal coz there is a feature enabled for mainly all DSL connections which is called interleaving that causes lag or delay in action while playing online games, please check this with your ISP if it is ON by default then get it switched off apart from that i would like to say that cable connections are better for online gaming purpose.

for disconnection problem please check the physical setup of your broadband and do check SNR on your modem status, if it is very low then you may face disconnection and if nothing helps then please contact your ISP for line test.
