Default Problem with Broadband scheme change

I was using Bsnl's Home plan 500 for quite some time but then,on 2nd december,2008 i submitted an application to Migrate to the Unlimited 750 scheme.
I regularly kept checking the "MY Orders" field having logged into my account at bbservice.bsnl.in in order to determine whether my plan was changed or not.
But even in January 2009,as my plan didn't get changed,i visited the local Bsnl exchange.
They asked me my telephone number and on telling that, they showed me the customer details thingy there, which shows my scheme is 750 Unlimited.
I even called the Bsnl guys at the local exchange later and they confirmed that my scheme had been changed with effect from 1st Jan,2009.
However, that "My Orders" field in my account still shows my scheme is "Home plan 500" and moreover,my download speeds were not reduced,as they are expected to,since i am switching from a 2 mbps connection to a 256 kbps connection.
Can someone advise me,whether it would right for me use the net or would that result in those huge bills,as i have heard from many.
    Any advice is genuinely welcome

You have not activated your account. Please click on the link in the mail you received from the forum admin in your mailbox. Failure to do so will cause all your posts go into moderation.

This topic has been discussed many times. Unless your portal page shows that the Plan change status as 'Provisioned', the status is still the same old. If your portal page is showing Home 500 then be advised that you should use your net as per the Home 500 plan, i.e., do not start downloading heavily during day time.

    lol..ok,i activated my account.
But now i am really confused,i mean, the people at the BSNL exchange are constantly telling me and have even showed me on 2 occasions that my plan is 750 ul under their customer details.
Is that a hoax then ?

    Thumbs down

BSNL is creating a lot of confusion over this matter.. i had the same problem, i used around 1GB of data in first 5 days of january, although i had submitted an application for plan change in december only.. My plan was activated on 5th that is what BSNL portal shows, i went to the BSNL office to confirm, they admitted many users are having such problem and said if u get an unexpected bill it will be rectified.
You have to be doubly sure before believing anything which is concerned with BSNL services..

I have already lodged complaints using the provided links.
Thanks a lot for the links.
Let's see, what actions they take or rather they take any action or not.
Anyway, even today i called the BSNL staff and with sheer confidence they confirmed again your scheme has been changed from 1st Jan and you won't be charged anyhting extra.
God knows what the issue is...really confused.
