I dont trust that one instead i use
    Torrents Search Engine or
Torrent Search Searcher - Torrent Scan (Powered by File Sharing Z)

and one more thing www.mininova.org, Demonoid.com and www.btjunkie.org are the most trusted ones so stick with them only

Yes all the things which are available in these site are free of cost!!

    TorrentReactor is not good.

    Top 6 Bit torrent sites

    1. Torrentz
    2. Mininova
    3. ThePirateBay
    4. Btjunkie
    5. Demonoid
    6. Isohunt
    Use one of these instead.

^^ Isnt that meant to be top bittorrent indexers ?? These sites do not have their own trackers, but only index torrents...

Torrentz and ISOhunt are Bit-torrent search engines. Piratebay and Demonoid have their own trackers. Mininova and Btjunkie hosts and indexes .torrent files.

I shifted from public trackers to private trackers long ago, much better in my opinion, no threats of viruses, extreme speeds, etc..etc..etc..so private trackers all the way!

In terms of safety, avoid software downloads from public trackers. They can be filled with malicious spyware/adware.Make sure your antivirus is good & up-to-date.
Before you download, always read the comments that users have posted about it.
And avoid .rar files as usually they are fake & password protected.

Isnt rar files the common form of distribution over torrents?

My advice, get into some reputed private trackers. Keep a check on TrackerChecker for private sites which are open for registration.

I have downloaded .rar from public trackers. None of the had any virus in them.

BTW. Thanks for the website link, cool_techie_tvm.

Download microtorrent software to download the files and it already said that read the comments before downloading and torrent file, otherwise there is no use and also if there is no comments then check the file after 40-50%(mainy in movie file if it is not in .rar it will play if it is real ) and never download .wmv extension file.

I meant the software files distributed as .rar on public trackers
    Movies & others are fine.

I also meant software files in .rar. Once I got a virus from public tracker, but it was not a .rar archive. Avast stopped the download & removed the virus file. But that was before I learned to read comments & sort according to seeds to find clean torrents. It's just as safe/unsafe as downloading software files for Rapidshare. You should be careful, when you see a media file in a .rar archive or a non familiar format.

Mininova is a Bittorrent indexer. The Pirate Bay is an indexer + tracker .

I search for torrents in Torrentz or Mininova & I download from ISOHunt. For some reason torrents downloaded from there are faster than the others. But the category system is to very good, which is why I rely on the other two for finding torrent.

BTW. Recently MCAFEE Site Adviser is showing RED ALERT for Torrentz. So I stopped using it.

Edit: ISOHunt is not a search engine. It hosts and indexes .torrent. They also modifies the .torrent files.
