Home 1000 plan is normally fine. Now in this plan minimum bandwidth is 384 kbps and maximum 2 mbps and and free usage limit 5 GB.Extra usage charge 1 MB 0.80 Rs and night unlimited(2AM--8AM) scheme is available so you can take any limited plan according to your necessity of day usage.

This plan has montly rental of 1k + tax = Rs.1236/-

    IMO,
anything above 1k for internet which is not unlimited is costly

Select a suitable plan according to your surfing habit.
    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

If you want to download from torrents movies/music etc
a higher speed 2 Mbps plan with NU free recommended.

    256Kbps 32 KB/sec (*conditions apply) 2MB/min approx
    2Mbps 256KB/sec (*conditions apply)15 MB/min approx

And if your Phone usage is also high see Home500 plans.

Rarely achieved. scale down to 60% to 80%

Depends on what ur criteria is....if ur just a normal surfer with intermediate download needs, the 500 plans would be just fine, but if ur a hardcore dwnloader, u'll need a unlimited connetciton at least, try for other services besides BSNL though...thats what i'd recommend

go for it anyways....the best way to learn something is through experience and not from something someone says...

I think its better to have H500c and UL750C together instead of H1000. For Rs. 250 More you gain a lot. Unlimited surfing + Decent downloading.

First ponder over the facts. What are the main differences between Home 500 plans (Home 500/Home 500 C/Home 500 C+) and Home 1000?

    1. Minimum speed in Home 1000 is 384 kbps vs. 256 kbps in Home 500 variants
    2. Extra limit of 2.5GB in Home 500 (3.5 GB over Home 500 C).
    3. Landline rent of Rs. 180/- is waived off in case Home 500 C/+.
    4. And of course, the extra Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 for Home 500 C+) plus tax to pay. This amounts to Rs. 561.80 (Rs. 449.44 in case of Home 500 C+).
    5. Home 500 C offers 175 free calls (instead of 50 in all others)

So in my opinion, Home 1000 plan does not, offer any significant advantage over Home 500 C or Home 500 C+ and yet it is twice as costly.

u can use the software by the name of auto power on its automatically switches on the computer and even connects its using a keybord or mouse sequence its gud i use that only

ya i get torrent speed of 220 total if u have say 5 or 6 files together
but on the single torrent the speed will be max around 190
so u should always try to sownload many torrents together

also limit the upload speed to around 20-25
this will higly speed up the torrents

also the h1000 plan is giveing more speed than the h500 plan i hve tried it
so i think it is better plus u r now getting a rebate also

^^ Its really tough to achieve that objective these days as BSNL is implementing a contention ratio of 49:1. The connection is shared with 49 other users and hence 10-15 heavy downloaders will hamper the overall download performance of others.
