Rep Power: 6 | I just wanted a version without problem of limiting upload speed. There could be some small changes in the stable release. But I didn't notice any difference beside that. Now there is also utorrent 1.9 Alpha available. |

Rep Power: 2 | I think this is highly dependent on seeder to leecher ratio. But dont restrict upload speed to 1kBps. I think 8KBps works fine for most torrents. Even in utorrent 1.8+ I restriced a torrent to 2 KBps upload speed cause it had 200 seeders and 3 leecher. It downloaded at 200KBPS+ speeds. Please dont hit and run Bsnl Home 500 upto 2MBps. Its great for downloading but I feel little tight on the 2.5gb free usage limit during non UL hours. using night Unlimited hours I can cross 100GB easily per month. (3.8 gb perday). Quote:

| Platinum Member | Upload speed is advised at 80% of your actual upload speed. I have followed this rule. In Home 500 C, the upload speed is usually 160 kbps to 240 kbps. I have set upload rate to 28 KB/s and this works fine with me. But I generally do not download movies - I buy them instead. Sometimes, I download them but I always end up buying the DVD sooner or later.

Rep Power: 1 | The latest version of utorrent doesn't throttle downloads if you lower the upload. However, there's an option in utorrent advanced that is turned on by default wherein users who contribute less to the torrent swarm get lower download speeds. |

Rep Power: 6 | I don't restrict upload speed. It's fully automatic. The upload speed will stay below 10 KBps when downloading and goes upto 60-70 KBps after the download is finished. |

| Platinum Member | Try to seed atleast at a ratio of 1:1 say for example you downloaded a movie of 700 MB then atleast seed until your upload is also 700 MB or greater then you can stop, it will be a fair play I will tell you my story i one downloaded an anime of 8.5 GB then i seeded until it was something around 23 GB!! then i stopped that!!! Please do not be selfish and besides why you people are restricting your upload speed it will not interfere in your downloaded i guess! |

Rep Power: 1 | Ya no harm in keeping the torrent seeded for a long time if you have the disk space & run your pc 24/7. |

also ... full upload speed doesnt help in DL speed also ... here is a simple formula - use this: ALWAYS RESTRICT UR UL SPEED TO 2/3 OF UR MAX DL SPEED ... I.E IF U HAVE A CONNECTION OF 384kbps(48kBps) -- restrict UL speed to 256kbps(32kBps ) ... this will improve DL speeds | |
