My plan is 500c+. Since last two days i am not lable to connect after 2 am. it gives error 691 - username password not correct.
But connectin works great wth same settings ...during non free hours... is somebody facing same problem?

As per customer care ... due to upgradation in MH .. error 691 will be there during free hours ... for 2 more days.
For the past two days i am unable to connect to Net and frequent calls to customer support I have been told the Server is down. Please let me know if anyone is facing similar Issue.
Did u try deleting the existing connection and recreating a new connection ? I have seen that solve 691 error.
Try to procure the number of the nearest NIB and try giving them a ring, they should give u a better layout of the situation.

In my case I also faced similar problems trying to connect at night. So for the last week I changed my habit to connecting at 5.30 in the morning and use till 7.30. (NU is available till 8 AM)
No problems till now.

thats the point guys they only start the upgradation thing exactly on 2A.M.........i never faced that problem but according to users reviews i was saying this...........
If the server is down then you will experience low browsing speeds but as you have stated that you are unable to connect to the internet that is something not related to the server going down, you should be able to connect to the internet!
There must be something else, there must be some problem at your side, which modem are you using? is the line crystal clear? which mode are you in bridge or PPPoE?

2day i tied at 6,7,7.30 but no use!!!!
I am getting the same problem from the last two days. Connection works fine till late night. Then 2 AM to 8 AM - it's all swaahaa and then conection comes back around 9 AM.
Wow...If you live close by, you guys should seriously form a team & visit the officer in charge of your area & demand an explanation.

More or less, If you look at the number of user's using the internet at night might be very less when compared to day time. So they get to give UL to user's at the sametime, they also have minimal bandwith usage at UL time periods.
That's the point, the usage at those periods(night time) are less when compared to the usage in day time. They will see what is the number of user's affected at this time and do the upgrade. And moreover since its UL period for some user's they get double bonus of limiting the download also :38: :bored:This goes beyond these reasons. The authentication server is down which means that no one can use the internet during that time.![]()
No. BSNL cannot shut down its services for the entire world just because a majority of people download during 2 AM to 8 AM. There are small business that run business at night and service small clients in US. A friend of mine does that for small US companies - he designs eCommerce sites for them.
BSNL can be taken to court for this.
If they have issues with NU plans, then they can stop the plans if they wish. But they cannot deny service to all people.

I am not justifying their practice here, all I am saying is for them night time will be the feasible time to do all upgrades. For instance, most database upgrades in my company happens either on weekend or night times. The only difference being that the user's informed previously of this upgrade so they stay clear of the database or application. I am not sure if its possible for them to do the upgrades in installments.
Are you sure about the court thing. I mean afterall the ISP is doing an upgrade which is going to or might improve the service for BB and i think they reserve the right to do upgrades when they see fit.
Glad the problem got resolved for you, did you by chance call the BSNL BB guys and ask them why they do it at this particular time, did they give any specific reason for the shutdown![]()
You can sue them if they are following this as a recurring practice. As of now, the problem seems to be resolved; so you can't sue them for loss of 2 days. They can always claim that major upgrade was going on, there were hack attempts, there were server issues, etc.
And, no. I did not call them. In any case the problem is at NIB, Bangalore and if you call the 1-800 number, it goes to the local helpdesk where they have no clue or will give standard answers.

whether it is exactly down at 0200am or some plus minus because i also faced the same problem but in my case it is during day time i.e. from 12:00 pm to 0600 pm in the evening but people from bsnl sought out the fault. in my case iam not getting 691 error or anthing like that . but i am unable to get the browsing at that time
i Think from ur side there is not at all problem it must be from the dept.
you may raised the complaint for it if the problem still persist to the bsnl dept.
Some of the circles have this practice of allocating the free period for maintanence works. Maybe thats why it gets disconnected at 2am.
