can somebody plz tell me how to get portal id??

Welcome vishu86 in IBB i have also faced such problem of portal id at the beginning of connection.You can ask from your telephone exchange they may tell you that (they did for me).Otherwise BSNL will send you a confidential post of letter to your address where portal id and password and user id & password all will be mention but may this latter will take 7-15 days to come your home.

In my case I have not received any confidential letter from BSNL. I have received the portal id from my local exchange. One of the BSNL employee ring me and give information about the portal id, user id, and email id with password. Then I open the Email id and found one Email from BSNL describing the details of my account. But many of my friends did not receive any Email from BSNL. They receive their portal ID from the local exchange.

In my case also I neither received any letter nor any e-mail.
I went the exchange and talked the person responsible for broadband. He gave the portal ID & password. He also adviced to log-in and change the password for both portal ID and service ID immediately in the portal site at http://data.bsnl.in/wps/

either you can ask from the bsnl call center or you can visit the nearest telephone exchange to grab your password and login id
