Thread: how to use broadband or computer as answering machine for landline bsnl phone

hi friends i have a broadband bsnl connection and i am using it with a landline connection means i use my broadband with dataone modem UT300R2u ...i want to recieve my landline calls on computer ...........is there is any way to connect this landline telephone with my pc ?

No. Voice and data circuits are different.

BSNL is an asdl connection which incorporates different frequencies for signalling schemes over the same telephone line. Lower end frequencies are used for calls and the remaining higher end frequencies are used for broadband services. This is what basically a splitter does, splitting the telephone line's available bandwidth into two.

u just put ur phone cable in pc and download the software that i already told u.

If you receive calls on the PC, I anm afraid, you may not be able to use broadband.

you need a special modem for this.. datafax if im not mistaken.. usually the default ones doesnt work.. im talking about dial up modems..

This software cannot be used with a ADSL modem. It's useful only for dialup data/fax/voice modem.

The software posted by totallyfandu is for dialup connections i think.
