The NIC card from BSNL gives a max of 144kbps. The EVDO card gives 2.5mbps @500/- per month. But an evdo enabled tower must be present near your premises for u to get atleast 1.5mbps.

The disadvantages include the following. Since its wireless, speed consistency wont be there. High latency for gaming needs. Since BSNL is giving shared IP all all such subscribers downloading from rapidshare, private torrents will be history.
