The addon datafox just fetches the data which is being listed in the portal. I do not think it can *force an update* of your usage in the portal. The portal is maintained by BSNL. DataFox is developed by an independent developer. I fail to see a connection by which the addon can force the portal to refresh the data usage..

Successfully installed and I am using it now. It just reflects the BSNL portal results. It won't be updated unless BSNL updates their portal. Still I see 8 MB which was last updated in 1.15pm in the day.

Also I am able to access bbservice and here are the details. The last update they have shown is of "2009-02-16 1.17pm" . So it doesn't updates regularly.

For user of 117.x.x.x in the login window check the Overide default domain and select bbservice.bsnl.in

I have clearly specified that before using datafox there was a lag of about 2 days for update of records in my case. But after using datafox I have noticed almost instant update of usage records. I am not sure whether datafox forces update or not but I have noticed this change.

Well certainly lot of bandwidth is used everytime I open a forum or any webpage. About 1MB. But maybe once stored in the cache the pages won't be that much taxing on the bandwidth

Use firefox coupled with adblock plus and flashblock. Also disable signature viewing and avatar viewing in the forum options. Also disable image if it is possible for me (some people like to browse with the images turned on)

These are some of the ways by which i curb my bandwidth every month.

Yes ,I have used it, works good but might create a problem if did not get your portal ID along with your BB login.I used it for the last time back in May,2008.Don't know about the latest version.

The portal ID is supplied by default with all the broadband connections. In some circles, they are mailed the portal ID from NIB Bangalore.

Certainly shaplus is showing some bandwidth that is not used but still shown. 3 days and still 61 MB only according to bsnl portal. So 2.5GB wiull be more than sufficient for day time surfing
