Smile if u r having mozilla firefox then u can check ur account

The following steps are to be follow.

1.download the mozilla firefox web browser.
    2. open the firefox browser and type the: :: Goan :: What you want to be, but can't...
    3. You will find the datafox, click the datafox and download the file.
    4. enter the Broadband user id for p2.2 customers) or portal id for (P3 customers )enter password respectively.
    5. Enter the domain name p2.2 (http:http://10.240.43.216/ ) or BSNL NIB-II PORTAL for p3
    6. click save

You will see the usage of the broadband in the bottom line right side on the mozilla firefox browser.

You need not to give user id/portal id every time, just open the mozilla browser you will see the usage.

    Thanks

This would fine as long the site bbservice.bsnl.in is working fine.
However, most of the time, the site does not function properly.
Then the only way is to log in to data.bsnl.in/wps/portal

For me, datafox is more use than a Windows only tool.
As i work on various platform.

Datafox is also more easy to use as once you put in the details, you just need to have a look at bottom right corner of your broswer window, your usage would be shown.

    whereas in shaplus,
you have manually launch the app everythime you need to check usage.

But is the same thing possible on Windows 7? maybe yes but there this shaplus won't run on linux without emulation. that why i like datafox, it runs on every computer i use.

Just didn't wanted to create a new thread, so asking my query in this thread. I just started shaplus bandwidth meter and within some 10 mins the usage has already crossed 10MB. Also I am just browsing this forum with 3 tabs open. Is this thing for real, in that case I will be out of bandwidth very soon. Windows auto update is off and so is any other software update. Another question about datafox. My IP is in the range of 117.x.x.x , am I supposed to enter the portal ID and portal pass and what should I select for domain. I have tried with the portal ID and pass and selected the default domain, also bbservice domain but still it says invalid pass. Also ISP has been selected BSNL. Please help me out in this case

The usage portal in question BSNL - Broadband Account Management is not loading up at the moment. Maybe that is why u are not able to see your usage. Please wait until the portal is back online again.

Have u tried any other bandwidth meters like Netmeter? if so, please do so and verify whether there is data transfer being listed in that software too. Which AV software are u using? Scan the PC for spyware/trojans too.

Not tried Netmeter yet. I have Norton Internet Security 2009 and my PC is free from infection. Does bbservice shows minute by minute usage check or only monthly? If there is some bsnl website that will shows session by session usage then it will be helpful.

The website is updated in regular intervals (30 mins i think, am not sure about the correct figure). Indeed session by session usage is displayed in the main usage portal

Just wait for sometime for the portal to get fixed.

http://bbservice.bsnl.in/ is the main portal for checking the account usage. The usage records should begin updating by this night or tomorrow morning.

DataFox is very useful to me as it forces update of records almost instantly. Before using datafox I have to wait for a long time to open the usage site and check the usage (and there is a lag of about 2 days for the updated usage to appear in bbservice.bsnl.in).

NOTE: There is another thread in which I have already specified this. It seems people don't bother and create new threads unnecessarily though there is another thread for the same purpose.

Matrix if u can lead me to the thread in which datafox works for new users (117.x.x.x) then it will be of great help, I am still unable to successfully login in datafox.
Also I am able to access bbservice and here are the details. The last update they have shown is of "2009-02-16 1.17pm" . So it doesn't updates regularly.

The addon datafox just fetches the data which is being listed in the portal. I do not think it can *force an update* of your usage in the portal. The portal is maintained by BSNL. DataFox is developed by an independent developer. I fail to see a connection by which the addon can force the portal to refresh the data usage..

Successfully installed and I am using it now. It just reflects the BSNL portal results. It won't be updated unless BSNL updates their portal. Still I see 8 MB which was last updated in 1.15pm in the day.

For user of 117.x.x.x in the login window check the Overide default domain and select bbservice.bsnl.in

I have clearly specified that before using datafox there was a lag of about 2 days for update of records in my case. But after using datafox I have noticed almost instant update of usage records. I am not sure whether datafox forces update or not but I have noticed this change.

Well certainly lot of bandwidth is used everytime I open a forum or any webpage. About 1MB. But maybe once stored in the cache the pages won't be that much taxing on the bandwidth
