Exclamation Why more upload speed than download speed ?

I'm having a BSNL 750 UL connection. I tested my speed with speedtest.net just now and found out the following speeds :

Download : 376 kbps
Upload: 387 kbps

Whenever I tests my bandwidth, I'm getting more upload speed than download speed !

What's the reason behind that ?

if u r geeting near about 32KB/s then its ok in torrent because 32 KB/s =32*8=256Kbps
but if ur geetingmore than this then u can say it is unreliable

check ur spped on Speakeasy - Speed Test or at Internet Speed Test - Test Internet Connection Speed

Speakeasy Speed Test result :

Download Speed: 249 kbps (31.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 346 kbps (43.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

whatismyip.com results

Download Speed: 307 kbps (38.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 235 kbps (29.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

And, why more upload speed than download speed ?

Speedtest results are never accurate and in any case, if you are getting more that the promised speed, you have no reason to complain.

I also used to get high upload speeds in Home 750 Unlimited. Download speed 32 KBps & Upload speed 41 KBps. This only started 1 month after the plan change and lasted for 2 months, then I changed plan to Home 500 C+.

There are mainly two profiles associated with a BSNL connection. The plan profile and the speed profile. The plan profile indicates the current plan and the speed profile indicates the speed set for the account. Any goofup in either of these leads to unequal speeds.

Is there any option for changing speed profile by sticking to the existing plan ?

Sadly no. Because if we could do it, we are basically altering our existing plan for higher speeds but with lower tariffs. And this again is highly illegal.
