Thread: Best Port For Ares

Hi All,

I have UL750 Plan from BSNL.
I am using Vista Home Basic & Ares P2P Software.

I am getting only 20 - 22 kbps (avg) download speed using ares but more when I use Vuze i.e (25+ avg) . But Vuze take more system resources than Ares.

Hence someone could please guide me which is best port to use in Ares in Vista. Also if port forwarding is needed, if yes then how to do the same.

Mine a wireless router model# DNA-A211-I

Instead of using Vuze for your torrenting needs, you can download and install and use utorrent. It does the same functionality of Vuze, but with a slighly lower memory footprint.

How do u connect to the internet? U dial an icon or it gets connected as soon as u switch on the modem?

Any port above 6000 which is open on your network will work.

Also, most p2p clients have an option (in their settings) to check for open ports.

The default Ares Galaxy port is 32285. However, Ares Galaxy utilities dynamic port configurations and may automatically choose alternatives including port 80 (HTTP).

Thanks for the guidance.

But, Now I got completely new problem...!!!!!!!!!!

My Ares keeps showing seraching but not connecting.
Any Guidance for this.

Did some quickie research on the problem and everywhere people are suggesting to move to Ares Vista.

U can also try uninstalling/reinstalling the software.
