    Question Frequent Error 678

    Hi,
Lately i have been plagued with this problem of Error 678.

    The error i get is
"Error 678: The remote Computer did not respond".
the error is corrected automatically after few hours and sometime even days.

This thing happens around 7times a month but the timing is irritating.
    as its all random.

Mostly, it happens when i have any important work like transactions via Internet Banking.

I files numerous complaints , but they say"Sir, we have fixed the error".
and next time same thing happens.

This time, this error kept coming for past 3days and i couldn't be online.

Thing steps, that could escalate the issue with bsnl authorities

Usually this error is present when some sort of work is being done in the exchange DSLAM. Maybe they are doing upgradation works in your exchange.

THis error comes becuase of DSLAM?

I thought BRAS is responsible for all user authorization management and billing. and DSLAM just maintain a error free link with subscribers.
Is ADSL link is up, it means DSLAM is also working.

    correct me, if am wrong!

If BRAS is taken into consideration then the whole users connected to the particular BRAS will be affected and it may cause much hue and cry. But the problem seems localised and hence i stated the DSLAM is being tinkered with.

I know each exchange has atleast one DSLAM. sometimes there may we more depending upon number of subcribers.

    What about BRAS?
How many BRAS are there, are they allocated per exchange or common for whole city?

Ps: i wanted to know this , as i am curious. if anyone think this as SPAM. they are free to report it. and admins can delete this

First of all, I would request you to post in small caps.its difficult to read in caps and also posting in CAPS is taken as "YOU ARE SHOUTING".

    Secondly,
I didn't understand what you are trying to say. all i get is you are talking about something called "AAA server".
can you explain what this AAA server really this, what does it do?
and how it can really help to solve my problem?

Here is the lowdown. AAA stands for Authentication, Accounting, Authorization. One of this was set in fire in Bangalore last year or the year before. And the whole of India was experiencing login problems.

    I called up my SDO,
he said they are increasing capacity of exchange and also the work of poleless network is in progress. hence the downtime.

He has asked to bear with the trouble for some more time. i guess i have to wait

    Yep, i remember that time.
then connections were being routed through Bsnl's Disaster recovery center in Pune.
