Thread: Govt employees scheme - Bsnl broad band

BSNL now decided to allow 205 concession to Govt employees on both rental and usage. I like to have some clarification.(1) concession on rental is understandable, but how to assess concession on usage ? Is it 20% concession on the cost of additional usage over free limit ? Or the users will be allowed 20% more usage over the free limit ? Or for the govt employees additional usage rate over the free limit will be 20% less ( i.e 72 paise per one MB against 90 paise per one MB as at present )

The 20% reduction on Plan Tariff allows free usage
say 1GB ,2.5 GB etc.
means for Home 250 you pay only Rs 200 for a 1GB d/L.

Any usage beyond free D/L limit ,will be charged as you have. stated.

U had posted the same query some days back but with slight modifications.

There has been reduction in the monthly rental only. So if an user is on H500, and if he applies for this scheme, only his monthly rental of 500/- will be reduced to 400/-. There is no concessions in the usage !!

My father is currently working in state govt. ( the phone is in his name ) & want to avail this offer , what r the forms that we have to submit.

Can any one tell me format of the application to be given & required documents to be submitted .

You need to submit a specific form that is available at the local exchange or JTO's office. This form need to be attested from your father's office. That is all you need.

submit application in duplicate and get a receipt.
enclose photocopy of latest paid telephone bill (optional )

Sub: Promotional Scheme of Broadband for Government Employees.

In order to boost the acquisition and usage of Broadband among government
employees, the competent authority has approved 20% discount on Broadband Service
charges (usage and rental) for Broadband connections provided to Central Government/
State Government/ PSU Employees category. The scheme is to be launched from
1st December 2008 across BSNL network and is a continuous scheme.

The serving and retired government employees applying for Broadband
connection under this scheme, should furnish an undertaking countersigned by their
Drawing and Disbursing Officer regarding their bonafide along with the application. In
case of retired employees, an attested copy of the Pension Pay Order should be submitted
along with the application. The application should be marked as "FOR GOVERNMENT
EMPLOYEES SCHEME".

The scheme is also applicable to existing Broadband customers who are
serving/retired government employees subject to their furnishing an undertaking as
detailed above. The discount of 20% in Broadband Service charges for the existing
customers will also be applicable if they apply, from the month of such application.

You are requested to kindly give widespread publicity to this scheme through
messages in local TV channels, telephone bills, broadcasting SMS, IVRS etc in addition
to print and electronic media so as to push the services.
