Default Broadband usage checking not working

For the last few months, I can see that BSNL broadband usage link is not working especially end of the month. I suspect they are doing this purposefully. Since user wont have any idea how much is used, then usage overshoots, the billing too.
Anybody experience the same?

Seems like u are a new subscriber of BSNL Broadband. Yes they do the same on every month end. Some of the members have reported loss of speeds too in the month end.

BTW there exists no such problem for the old subscribers ;p

Thanks for useful information. Today for the first time I have tried to check my usage since I have unlimited plan so I didn't bother before. It is not working for me either. I am getting Login error on portal.seems it is normal.

For checking the usage a separate portal id and password is required. Are u sure u entered those in the required fields? The portal id is an alphanumeric code.

BSNL sends a mail warning when usage limit exceeds. This mail is sent to your BSNL user id, i.e., <your BSNL username> @ bsnl.in. You can use this as a reference and stop using internet when you receive such mail.

The BSNL e-mail site is BSNL Mail Login

Yes, I have done that and it is giving me user name / pass word wrong error. so I have reconfirmed in from BSNL 1500 service. same result.

Anyone with Ip 117.xx.xx.xx and with @ bsnl.in
could access mail by logging here / with a Broadband connection ?

Appears this is for Dialup Old Sancharnet Internet connection.
Says log in with @bsnl in or @ sancharnet .in.

I am on 59.xx.xx.xx and can log in and can access my webmail.

for those who are on NIB II (117.xx.xx.xx) there are two possible links for checking usage details
1> BSNL - Broadband Account Management
2> BSNL NIB-II PORTAL
while the first link may not work always, the second generally works.
the details are not available for the first few days of the month due to billing purposes

@ essbebe
http://mail.bsnl.in/ works for NIB II also. the choice to be made is USERID@bsnl.in

i just think that the prob is overloading of bsnl server at the month end because everyone (or most of the users) try to login at the same instance. also bsnl has to upgrade its servers to support large num of users at the same time.

i may be wrong in this. they(bsnl) may be doing it on purpose. cant trust these people.

It is my experience also that from 27th onwards BSNL usage portal is not accessible till 2-3rd of next month. On enquiry with BSNL I was told this due to work for billing purpose. I wish they would speed up the process and shut down the portal only on last day of month.

BSNL - Broadband Account Management not working ?

BSNL Portal
Alternate web site.

Also try Datafox add on if using browser Firefox.
( now being upgraded.Any problems/bugs please report )

Para two
To keep check shaplus meter1.3,
ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter - Freeware to display bandwidth consumed for session, day and month
NOT depending on BSNL portals.

Start from beginning of the month.
Now will not show old usage for this month till date!,
if you had not started it earlier from 1st Jan.
(has a timer also . Will not record NU if set )


Compare usage recorded . later with BSNL portal
to assess accuracy. tested jpg insertion.

The NIB portal http://data.bsnl.in/ generally remains available at theend of the month and goes off-line around 1-6 every month

thanks for the suggestions.ShaPlus meter tool is really good. thanks
I am an old customer of BSNL. earlier I didnt have any portal id. And ip was automatically acquired setting. After shifting my telephone I got new connection with portal id. and static ip. after that the usage finding site also changed.
Anyway I am getting very good speeds nowadays. around 300 Kilo bytes per second...

Yes i get calls of the similar nature since sometime. I guess it started in 2007.

checked mine via FF/Datafox on BSNL usage site.
On home 250 ip 59.xx.xx.xx DF shows 697.344MB
