Question conversion bsnl landline phone with Plan1200AU to Home 500c BB connection

i recently got a bsnl landline phone with Plan1200AU. i.e., the montly rent for the landline is Rs.100/- per month with 50 free calls. i have paid 12 months rent of rs.1200/-. i get billed only for calls beyond the free 50 calls. i was using internet on the free dialup netone internet facility for time being to send/receive mails alone.

now my problem is i have applied for a Home 500c and i havnt yet got the connection for the past 6 days. when i enquired in person i was suggested to take Home 500 plan instead of Home 500c which is combo rental scheme for b/b and land line, as the advance rental of rs.1200/- i have paid cannot be trasferred to the new Home 500c plan.

i dont understand why they cant do this. any suggestions or sharing of previous experiences in this regard will be verymuch useful to me.

thanks in advance.

regards

BSNL treats BB & LL as separate profit centres.
So it may not be feasible to transfer past revenue from one profit centre to other.

In a way you are also to blame as it appears that the new connection you took was also with the intent of using BB service, in which case you should have taken the general plan initially and the for Broadband, asked for the annual plan.

There are basically three plans in the 500/- segment H500, H500c and H500c+.

H500c - Free Usage limit is 1.5GB. No fixed monthly rental for telephone. And 175 free calls every month. Tariff as per one india plan.

H500c+ - Free usage limit 2.5GB. No fixed monthly rental for telephone. And 50 free calls every month. Tariff as per one india plan.

H500 - Free usage limit is 2.5GB. Telephone tariff is as per existing plan.

Now i hope u understand why they mentioned to opt for H500.

Guys thanks for the replies. yep it is true that i have to be blamed for having paid the 1 year rent for L/L in advance. because of that only they are not able to convert it to Home 500c.

they called me this after noon and informed that they will install the modem today. let us wait and see.

but today they have added that they dont have stock of type 1 modem (single port) that costs rs.1000/- and have only the Type 4 modem i.e., 4 ports with wi-fi, which they are selling for rs.1600/- and asked if it is ok with me as the type 1 modem will take some time to arrive. since type 4 is wifi enabled i have consented to get the type 4 modem as use a Nokia N91 8GB handset which is wifi enabled too.

will update after bsnl has activated my BB connection

Its better to opt for the type 4 modem which gives us various options for future experiences...

Keep us posted about the newly acquired connection...

Getting a type IV modem for home connection is really a great gift from BSNL as it is generally reserved for the business plans.
One major advantage is that it has 4 LAN ports plus wifi which means u can connect upto 4 PC/Laoptops by etherner cable and share the connection beside using the wifi option also.
