Is the wireless router being detected by a laptop? Verify that the router's wifi facility is working properly. N95 tends to automatically connect to a wifi network if present.

in order to be able to connect to the net through wifi from mobile, u need to be in PPPoE mode i.e. the login and password would be stored in the modem and authentication would be done by the modem and you are connected on always on basis.

You must enable DCHP, wireless SSID in the BSNL router and configure it in PPPoE mode.
