Just an idea about why I am pissed off with BSNL now. Check my speed in a 512 kbps unlimited connection for the last 13 days. I have just made a speedtest and that too at the official BSNL speedtest.

    Check this only 10 kbps

BSNL should give 60 KBPS download speed atleast on 512 Kbps connection. Have you tried invading their office

Are u able to access TBP? Because your tracert seems like the last few hops were not accessible. Or is it accessible now that u have switched to OpenDNS?

Just did a tracert of the same site now and i am getting full results !!

Its only 1.35 KB/S as seen in the image. That is the reason I am getting increasingly pissed off. I have to wait ages for even a single page to load.

Please dont give bulls**t advice unless you know me. I have worked in technical support department of international broadband ISP like AT & T of the US (It is one of the most used ISP in US). I do not have very bad knowledge of neither broadband nor computers and networking. :37:

I will not be standing hand in hand for 14 days without checking my line if my internet is down. For me a single day is a big matter leave apart 14 days.

Please make statements and assumptions and dont give your s**t making awkward assumptions if you dont know anything properly.

Rest for everybody else today is the 14th day and BSNL speed did not return back today too. I received a call for the complaint I had made to BSNL with the links you provided but that was too from my local office and they did not do anything. I again went to the BSNL zonal office and they said that they are not able to mend the lines.

    @sharukhbachan

    Update summary of the thread.
For more than 14 days no connection/intermittent/ or low speed 10Kbps/sec. ( tested in BSNL test site).
    Plan 512Kbps

    Info needed :
    1.
    The modem/router you use.
    2. The adsl stats page screen shot.
    3. Number of computer/s etc you use.
    4. Speed test from Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test say Mumbai server.

Sorry for replying so late.. BSNL went down completely since my last post

However today finally after 19 days internet returned back to normal at last.. Today my internet is back to normal with a downloading speed of 500+ and uploading speed of 400 +

Thanks everybody for the help and I still regard BSNL as the worst ISP due to a huge downtime of 19 days in the whole Guwahati city

Hope BSNL would do something extraordinary to change my belief

Anyways feeling quite relieved today and hope I do not face any problems in the future

My BSNL net connection was down for 3 weeks. I disconnected BSNL forever and migrated to Airtel. I'd suggest you to do the same, if feasible.

In his case he was helpless. Could not move to any other service provider as none were available.

You should claim a rental rebate for your connection.
as according to rules, you get full rental rebate for a month is your BB is down for more than 15days

Gaurish is right. By all means u can claim for the reduction in broadband charges for the month.

Any ISP in India is bound to follow the rules right? If we state the rules, then i have seen BSNL too yielding to the pressure
