Thread: BSNL connection over Beetel 450BX1

Hey everyone,
This is my first post over the forum & i m an absolute certified n00b for broadband, networking config. etc.
I just bought a Beetel 450BX1 Wi-Fi modem(suggested by a friend as the best Wi-Fi) & i have BSNL broadband. Now the problem is that i 've configured the modem using same guide available at same section, but somehow i can't post/register to any site/forum (went to a friend's house to register here).

Earlier i had D-Link GLB-502T with me but i needed a Wi-Fi. I m using Kaspersky IS 7 & my buddy said that it might be a culprit too. So donno what to do now.

I need ur help people!

Are u able to browse other sites? Is registration the only problem? Is the KIS updated?

Browsing isn't a problem. I can see almost every website. Kaspersky is automatic updated.

Also buddy just said that it might be an encryption problem. Kaspersky isn't allowing encrypted data.
(really didn't understood what he said).

Some of the webpages are secured with encryption. U may identify them by the https instead of the usual http in the url. Maybe your friend is stating about it.

But Kaspersky doesnt cause any known problems with encrypted sites..

Just got new thing!
When i pause the Kaspersky protection, i can post!!!

So now i got that it is Kaspersky that making it stop but earlier when i had the D-link modem, i never faced any problem.

modem is not locked usually. just open http://192.168.1.1 and enter username and password as admin ( default) .. for improvement in browsing speeds use opendns server - 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .. are you talking about torrent speeds?

To increase the speed of torrents, you can try port forwarding.

Do not attempt to change settings in modem/router
without making a back up of present settings to Hard disk.

Speed Increase :
Mention your tariff plan and check speed at

speedtest.net say Mumbai and Sydney servers.

How do you connect now ? "DialUp" or "Always On"

Port Forwarding :
portforward.com. Select Beetel 220BX
and the application / same for 450BX modem/router.

Can I use the beetel 450bx1 wireless modem+router that comes with airtel with bsnl broadband ?

Airtel modems can be used with BSNL. Set VPI/VCI as 0/35. That is the only difference.
