Are u and the friend downloading the same torrent file? The speed is dependent upon the number of seeds/peers in public trackers. In private trackers u will be getting the maximum speed possible.

Private trackers are torrent trackers which require registration to gain access to. The number of seeds and leechers are limited and most of the seeders have seedboxes which translate into high speed downloads. The only disadvantage is that u need to maintain a 1:1 ratio in the downloads:uploads ie whatever u download must be uploaded too.

U can check which all private trackers are available for registration in here Trackerchecker.org

@cool_techie_tvm don't give direct link for torrent site i think it's violate the warez rule.

@A yos! Torrents speeds it's depend upon the seed and peer try to download such movie/games/software where you can get more peer & seed.

The website mentioned by me is not a torrent tracker, but a database which enlists the private trackers which are currently open for signups. It will be found useful for subscribers who are desperately trying their luck to get into the scene!!

Mods/Admin may delete the same if found contrary to the rules of the board.

which torrent client are you using? i think you need to adjust a few settings in your client. there are already a number of threads discussing these things
