Hi guys I am in 500C Night Unlimited Plan ...1st Few Days I used Wake Up On Stand By Software As it Usually Wake Up On 2Am By Hibernation nd Start Downloading Through U torrent..i Noticed That From Night 11Pm to 2Am I got Charged Of 60Mb Daily Without Using It..So I decided To Shutdown And Assigned the work to BioS so as to wake Up on Specified Time nd Start Downloading..Then Also I Noticed That Usage Of 100MB ..Wat A Big HeadAche??..So Here Am Attaching Files OF Usage ..u People Can See this and Give Me New Ideas Please???

Are u in PPPoE mode (always on)?
By hibernation what do u mean? hybernation of only the PC/laptop while the modem stays on?
Are u using a wifi router?
try the following
1. U need to make sure that the modem also stays off / is rebooted at around 2.05 AM
2. Also immediately change your service password
3. if using a wifi router, change the settings so that it does not display its presence and also make it MAC bounded to your system only.
4. use a proper firewall & antivirus

BSNL isnt cheating u. First of all verify whether u have windows update enabled. Windows update updates the pc while it is idle. Secondly scan the pc using reputed AV softwares like Kaspersky. Malwares have also been noted to download data in the background.

Alternatively u can make a complaint to BSNL specifically the NIB and they will start monitoring your account of unauthorized usage.

See Malware Use The Data When We hibenate Or Else When We Use ..But i Got It To Shutdown & I even Noticed Data Usage...I Think There Would Be Problem With Router Or Server Only Nd Also I Check Daily my Pc Using Avast nd Antispyare Softwares But I dint Find ny Malwares also...mORE OVER wATS tHAT nIB..I dNT kNOW hw u Authorise It..

what did u shut down? only PC/laptop? OR only Modem? OR both PC/Laptop and Modem?

Since u are absolutely sure that malware isnt present in the pc, please complain to BSNL about account being misused. They will forward the request to NIB (national internet backbone) and your account will be monitored for misuse by others.

If someone is found using your account then he will be billed accordingly. But u need to file a complaint with BSNL.

BTW in hibernation the pc similar to being switched off and no malware can act in such a state.

sokmetimes the computer wakes up early (automatically...dunno y...) this has happened so many times with me.

But what it downloads is yet another question, there are a lot of things WU or malware or software upating, torrents etc..

Hibernate Means Modem ON And Hibernation..My MOdem Is ON PPPoE mod PPPoE Always ON Mode ...I am Havin Sterlite MT882 Normal Router

then I suggest u to do the following,
1. for seven days, switch OFF the modem also whenever u go for hibernation.
2. check the usage
3. if u still see unaccounted usage, be sure your account is being used by someone else.
4. then lodge a complain with BSNL for unauthorised use.
5. also try to change ur service password every week
6. if your unaccounted usage stops by switching off the modem, then be sure the problem lies within your system only.

The modem whether in pppoe or bridged mode needs to transfer data from one side to the other. So when your pc is offline, only one part of the circuit is getting completed. The modem is connected with the exchange, thats it. Only that part is getting complete. The other part is left open (modem connected to PC), and it (modem) will only keep on receiving acknowledgments from the exchange, but surely those doesnt mount up to 60MB or 100MBs.

Stop download anything and switch off your PC & modem.
If anything is downloaded, then change your password and file a complaint to NIB

always turn off the automatic update features of all software you install - adobe reader, antiviruses, antispywares, windows etc may be the cause.

He is saying that the download goes on even when the system is put in hybernation/shut off. No automatic update feature would run when the system is not running.

Hence i am of the opinion that someone is misusing his account. Data transfer even when the PC is off always points to that direction.

Dear Skperfect why not switch off your internet for whole day and then start it on after 2:15 am during night then run it till 7:45 pm after this process check your usage. if still your problem exist then contact to BSNL office.

as i am also using same plan.... and download more then 70Gb every month without any problem.

your computer clock and Bsnl server clock not matched.

In 2Mbps plane 100 MB is not a big deal for download.

See Guys I Switched off MoDEM for 2-3days then acc usage was nil,,i hope nobody us misusing this Acc as am Changing my ACC password BIWEEKLY,,Is there any Chance of Misusing by any BSNL Staff?? or Shall I once Format the Windows ??? ..1 thing i would like 2 say that this ACT in d Modem Beeps Very Frequently is that d reason of this Problem??...Is there Any Problem With Telephone Line???..wats D procedure For complaing 2 NIB??

file a complaint and keep it.. its a safer side... dont worry in Indian constitution there is always an option for taking back the complaint......

now better is leave using PPPoE mode and switch to bridge mode.... keep that dialing connection in start-up and now hibernate the system and schedule in BIOS to boot up at 2:05 AM so your pc will boot up by 1 min then connects so by 2:07 it will connect and start downloading.........!

try to get another modem an d repeat the same test. it would detect if your modem is faulty
