everybody out there

can anyone help in this typical problem im in to
I choose the broad band connection with home 500C PLUS PLAN I HAD A GOOD SPEED OF 170KBps on torrentz as i had so much to download i shifted my plan to home unlimited 750+ it was so slow that my download speed would never exceeded 30KBps
then i changed back to home 500C PLUS JUST YESTERDAY BUT IAM UNABLE TO GET THAT SAME SPEED
I JUST WANNA KNOW HOW TO GET THAT UP TO 2mbps ORIGINAL SPEED WHICH IS GENERALLY IN BETWEEN 100-200KBPS OR ATLEAST IN HOW MANY DAYS WOULD THE SPEED BE UPDATED AFTER CHANGE OF BROAD BAND PLAN FROM UNLIMITED TO AN UPTO 2 MBPS PLAN

have you talked to the BSNL customer service yet?

Seems like BSNL has not altered your speed profile yet, which is still set at 32 kBps. U can wait for some days or get in touch with the nearest internet exchange and report back the problem. They will alter your speed profile to 2048kbps.

Usual misconception, that once you APPLY for change of plan it is automatically effective.

BSNL has to inform NIB center for change of plan and reset usage meter for your acct for New tariff plan..

This is normally done w.e.f 1st of the month.
Will/may take effect from 1ST MARCH 2009
since you applied on 2nd feb 2009.

In some cases done immediately. Check in Portal.

Para two :
Other Private ISP's have BOD ( BANDWIDTH ON DEMAND), , in which you have the choice to d/l at a higher speed and cost for specific time(say 1 hour)
example check Airtel ( Not sure still available) .

have you reported your problem ?

essbebe is totally correct i.e. if u had applied on before 1st of feb then only ur plan must have got changed otherwise please confirm it from ur nearest BSNL office or check ur portal ID for the type of plan u have currently as to coz u had an unlimited plan earlier so nothing would have been charegd for at that time but since due to plan change in this month u must be charged for usage during day time i.e. excluding night unlimited .................... if not so then your plan has not got changed till now wuld be effective from 1st of march only ..........

BSNL has officially stated that plan changes will be effective in the succeeding month only. No plan changes in the middle of the months. Circulars have been issued in various circles.

Will the tariff plan revert back say after Feb/7th?
You have said elsewhere,

no from feb every activity of plan change will effective from 1st of every month.

and if it is showing provisioned then it is changed . and dont worry about plan change if u give application then it is exchange people resposibilty for plan change
u can avail services from next month bacause ur plan is changed in dotsoft and ur billing is done according to dotsoft if ur having latest plan in dotsoft then no point of worry.

he gave application on 2 feb so naturally it starts from 1 march

yes you are right I think that he gave the application in the last days of previous month i.e. jan2009

hi prasanth i also have same problem.i changed from 750 to 500 plan but my speed doesnt change.did u sloved u r problem
