I have used DAP and IDM. Currently on IDM. I did not detect any significant difference. Use whatever you are comfortable with. But then I donot download much.

why on earth are you guys recommending crappy shareware apps when there are excellent FREE apps available that are better ???

IDM and DAP are both pretty pathetic for a shareware apps btw, stuff like leechget and flashget are both free and better.

I badly want to use DAP, but I am not able to use it as there's some compatibility issue between DAP & FF3....

Can anyone suggest me a solution for this or any other download manager will also do?

speed is not always the issue...idm is much more smarter than others..try to open repidshare links in address bar of browser..dm like flashget, mass downloder etc popup everytime..they popup on pages rather than true rar files..i have tried every single downloder available..i can say that idm gives you more advanced features than other crap.

see it depends on some parameters -

if you want to acheive max speed - then DAP is a better option . but dap doesnt provides all the features in idm like site capturing for offline browsing, downloading a particular type of files(pdf,mp3 etc) from any site etc etc

IDM is imo the best download manager - feature rich and very user friendly

DAP is good when it comes to acceleration of downloads.

Pl. install the FF3 add-on FlashGot from flashgot.net
once installed, it will automatically detect the download managers installed in your system including DAP, IDM, leechget, flashget etc. (total 31 managers for windows, 6 for linux and 4 for Mac)
whenever any download is inititated, u will have an additional radio button "flashgot" which when selected would intercept the link and transfer it to your download manager.

I have to agree with him. IDM helped me a lot for Rapidshare downloads. Once the cookie is set, then we just need to feed the URLs.

and also capturing sites for offline browsing... and extracting and downloading all files of a specific type from a site and scheduling downloads in a very user friendly way
