but no matter how much my upload speed is, its not interfering with my download speed, why so? cause i get around 55-59kbps for download and 64 for upload, so then what should be my overall download?

in torrents there is a ULL ratio.. but in general your upload speed is independant of download speed..

Torrents do not like ports from 0 to 1023. In any case, it cannot use ports numbers such as 80, 23, 21, etc. Anyway it is unsafe to open ports 0 through to 1023.

But other than that, there is no such thing as best port for torrent. Any port that is open, is a good port.

Please bear in mind that many online games use specific ports for connectivity. So if you use the same port for torrent while simultaneously playing online, the port will have congestion and speed of game plus torrent speed, both, will suffer.

i always suggest ports between 52,000 and 55,000 for torrent clients. i read this in some torrent speed increasing tweaks website some time ago and always follow this and this works. you can also refer to youtube for some video tutorials on how to configure various torrent clients and optimize them for speed YouTube - torrent speed
