    Unhappy Downloading Problem

    Haii
I have 500C plan there was no problem with the connection for 3 months since i got the connection but now am its really frustrating when I tried to download it stops after downloading a portion of the file. I tried to download 2 movies and both of them were stopped on 99% I think it was the problem of that site but now I have this problem for many sites,I could not complete many files even from famous sites like sun and apache. Torrent is also slow form me now i did not get speed greater than 25KB .Pls anyone tell me what is the problem is this is something related to my OS or with connection

The 99% mentioned in your post, is it related to torrent downloads or normal http downloads?

If its torrent downloads. the same might occur when the only seed logs off. Unless he enters the torrent pool the downloads will be stuck at 99%. Some fake erroneous torrents are also known to display this.

Regarding the slow speed in torrenting, have u forwarded the port correctly? Do u get the green network status icon in utorrent (if thats your torrent client)?

    * Do you have any firewall protection once check download inactive the firewall.
    * Check your speed at www.speedtest.net
    * May be it's BSNL server problem also(most possible) so you can complaint it to BSNL CC by the help line number.
    * scan spyware,virus,adware

Try downloading torrets from private trackers. They are known to provide the maximum available speeds.

Are u using any download manager for http downloads? If not, i would recommend IDM (internet download manager). Please try http downloading using IDM and see if there is any change in the scenario.

*By any means, this could be a Virus problem.
    Try running HijackThis

    * Check your HDD for bad sectors and make sure you have enough free space available

if u r downloading any software it consists more than 1 file if any file in the torrents are not seeded properly and it is used then it will not download and also if any of file have some virus/trojan/spyware then ur pc antivirus also block it for downloading and it hangs at 99%.

I think there are some disturbances in your DSL your connection is breaking in the middle of the download so thats why you are stuck

And also try to download without using any download manager and yes btw sometimes the download link dies in the end so you are stuck, try resuming it

I did a Google search on this topic.

It is quite likely that your AV program is blocking a file that it deems to be a virus. This generally happens with a .nfo or .exe or .bat file that is contained in the torrent.

    A website suggested the following:

    1) remove the torrent but keep the files
    2) re-open the torrent and the files will be force checked once again
    3) in all probability the torrent may be completed but not updated by the tracker properly
    4) The auto recheck will correct these errors.
